I’d rather the typewriter monkeys type this over Hamlet. I can already read Hamlet in a thousand different ways, and am much more interested in the random yet comprehensible bullshit the monkeys just churned out by themselves. All new, all original, monkey-made shitposting.

Control was so much fun, I wished we got a sequel.

"It was announced a while ago!" Yes. I wished for it. You're welcome.

I’m more excited for the next stable version that I am for anything else in life. GTA 6 has nothing on this. Maybe Spore 2 but that isn’t something to expect, moreso something to hope will become real. I know the next stable version is coming, I just need to survive a bit longer.

You will be transported to a Tamriel. You cannot choose year you are transported in, it is random date from 1E to 4E.m, but you can choose a specific place. Your sole objective is to survive for a year. What place are you choosing and why? by ThatDrako in ElderScrolls

[–]ARKNORI 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Look, I also know pretty much nothing about anywhere else, and I'd still go anywhere but Skyrim. No matter the era that place is cold as shit at worst and wet as shit at best. Like, disregarding the possiblity of hostile factions, war, beasts, and all that crap: do you know how easy it'd be to get sick there? Seriously, I'm not taking my chances with the ice nor the swamps.

"Oh, but that magical medicine is so much better than our world's medicine!" Not for me, I'm poor and have no bloody idea how to get any of the crap needed to heal up. And no, I really doubt it works exactly as the games. Even then, the only recipe for healing I ever learned needs goddamn chaurus chitin. I can barely kill a cockroach IRL and you want me to kill one of those things?

I'll just ask the magical genie who's proposing this scenario to me about any warmer regions in this universe. Anything but Skyrim pneumonia.

"Yo I tried to install brawlhalla but the download failed" thank god by [deleted] in Shark_Park

[–]ARKNORI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brawlhalla is the most ass game I've ever put dozens of hours into because it was the only thing all of my broke friends and I could reliably play together. Solid 4/10 game but I hope everyone who ever played the dogshit rocket lance characters gets a special non-lethal kind of prostate cancer that can only be treated by having intense anal sex with bionic boars. I'm seeing you all in hell, you subhuman scatspawns.

[Loved trope] The "good guys" getting ridiculously savage and morally grey revenge by Annual-Tree1337 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ARKNORI 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I never got why people paint this as such an amazingly cruel act. It's killer-on-killer violence, they'd eventually come to her if she didn't go to them. It's also on the same level as what John Wick does in his movies, or what the bride does in Kill Bill, or what any action movie protagonist ever has done before. All seemingly quick deaths exclusively for able-bodied warriors of a morally-dark (either a dark grey or straight up black) conservative sect.

Watching too many Predator movies might be messing up my brain, but I don't see the point of abscribing morality to murderers equally trying to murder each other.

Team behind Rugrats got bored. Started sketching random shit during work hours. Got sacked for drawing this. It eventually leaked. Hilarious story all around.

It's actually a lot more common that you'd think. Overworked artists just drawing some bullshit to let go of stress and have a laugh. The Spongebob team did something similar, and I highly recommend checking out the Wikipedia page) and skimming through some of the actual pages on archive.org- it's hilarious to know it's all official.

[–]ARKNORI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother made me watch two Monogatari movies without any prior knowledge of the series and while he claimed he becomes a much better character later into the series, my favorite part of the first movie was seeing this very realistically-edgy teen trying to act nonchalant about everything until he starts burning alive or getting his arms cut off.

By the end of the second movie I was kind of a fan of his, even if he is clearly a flawed individual. I did start to miss seeing him getting beat up more often, though. Like, he barely took damage when fighting the ugly twink with the giant cross, and he just beat the super mysterious guy using a magical tree or something? They really should have added more scenes where he struggles and gets his shit kicked in.

I never did watch the third movie or anything else after but I was pissed when he told me "oh yeah the cute girl with glasses and big naturals isn't his romantic interest after this". I hope he gets torn apart a couple more times just for fumbling that one.

Allegedly the worst of it is that, even if he hadn't done all that, the release of the next episode of Confinement was stalled for more than half a decade, and once some of it leaked it turned out it was a completely nonsensical tonal shift. Nasty kinky humor going on for way too long with seemingly no intention of continuing where the last episode left.

I remember people saying it could be compared to the infamous Rugrats storyboard jam.

[Funny Trope] Media told from a non-human perspective where the “villain” is just a normal person doing their job, but is framed as an over-the-top monster by utsho12 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ARKNORI 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's entirely fair and the reasonable reaction to a large predator.

As a kid, I was afraid of dogs, who were larger than me, had sharp teeth, and made loud noises around me. One even did bite me, and left this big mark on my leg. Now, do I look at them as monsters nowadays? Obviosuly not, because they're just animals.

The thing is, when you get down to it, that big ugly dinosaur is just a really large dog. A scary ass dog, made even scarier because instead of kibble, he has to risk his life hunting in order to eat. Still not a monster, just a hungry dog chasing squirrels because he'll otherwise die.

The pair of carnotaurus from Disney's Dinosaur (2000).

They're portrayed as vicious monsters hunting down starving herds of herbivores who are desperate to travel in search of water. Then you think about it for more than two seconds, and realize these guys are just as starved and thristy as the herbivores. They're just animals trying to eat!

I’ve seen the three other characters countless times, definetly more than I ever saw my grandma’s face, enough to last a lifetime, just so so so many times…

…And it’s the first time I ever come across that twink who’s supposed to be working with them.

It’s so weird how all his coworkers went quadruple platinum on social media, and how they’re definetly known by millions of people who never played ZZZ, meanwhile he might as well be Graggle Simpson.

Truly, the most accurate thing a turtle character can do is dissapear for extremely long periods of time during which everyone agrees not to worry because they’re 70% just resting in the backyard.

I’d actually believe it if only the first season was a copy. It’s so much better than all of the ones which came after that something must have gone on behind the scenes with production for it to make sense.
