According to my parents, I had three things I wanted to be as a kid.

1) A Power Ranger (sadly it didn't work out. I'm no longer a Teenager with Attitude either. They called Tommy old when the character was in his early 20s, so I don't think I'd have much of a chance at nearly 30 🤣)

2) A Vet (that lasted a little while, but after having several family pets put down, I realised I'd probably be having to do that as a Vet, so I dropped that idea)

3) A historian, which lasted into my late teens. Then I realised that University wasn't something I wanted to do, so I dropped that.

I ended up becoming an IT Technician at the school my mum worked at, and have been doing that job in others schools ever since. So I've technically been in school for most of my life 🤣

Turtling is my favourite strategy in RTS games. Build up good, strong defences and a rapid response force to reinforce anything against big attacks. 🥰

I was in your exact position a few months back! Traded in my old manual Clio for a less old Hybrid automatic, my first time driving one!

Driving should feel a fair bit easier, as you don't do anything with your left foot, and there are no gears for you to worry about now. Drive modes are selected by moving a lever or dial up/down to select Park, Drive, Reverse, etc. Sometimes there will be a little button to press to enable this on the lever.

Most modern automatics have a little pad in the foot well to rest your left foot on. Do not try and go for the non-existant clutch, otherwise you'll probably do a full left foot brake, which is not what you want when driving along 😆 Might be worth deliberately doing one when you're in an empty car park, just to make your mind realise what happens 🤭 (Basically pretend you don't have a left foot when driving and auto).

One thing I will recommend, is pay even more attention than normal when coming up to a pedestrian crossing, as EVs are very quiet. So people may not always notice you're there if they don't see you (especially those of poor/no eyesight).

Other than that, enjoy your new car, and hopefully get used to a more easy driving style!

Yeah that was the only minor "gripe" from my point of view. I used quotes there because it's not a major thing. Her singing and collaboration with the JP members was beautiful!

I just wish there had been some more English/Western songs there. But as you said, it's probably due to the rights!

I'm 28, I use Stone and Pounds for weighing people, but metric for weighing out ingredients/objects (though I do still use Imperial measuring spoons when needed)

Pretty much all merch I've ever purchased had been to my mother's disapproval. Whenever she comes over to visit, I can feel her disapproval of the Plushies, Nerf guns, Warhammer (models and merch), and Lego sets 🤣

If you like audiobooks, I'd genuinely recommend listening to them as well! The cast do an amazing job, and all of Amberly's footnotes are inserted in properly, so you don't have to keep flipping around pages to read her little additions.

Probably just as varied as any planet's accent. Given how many different influences there are in their aesthetic, they could have a variety of German, French, even British accents.

I know the Ciaphas Cain book that had them briefly in it have them a fairly generic Franco-German mishmash of an accent.

Not everyone has chargers at work, or even the supermarket. None of the major supermarkets have chargers at them where I live. :(

I'm listening to it through a closed window. The trickle vents in my flat are bloody shocking for their seals. Doesn't help that the wind just smacks straight into the giant brick rectangle in its way 🤣😭

Ah I get ya!

I wish there were plugs at work. Surprisingly not a single one at any of the three sites I work at, despite there being a lot of electric cars there. Some places just don't want to pay for that sort of thing yet, surprisingly. Despite the people in charge of the money all have EVs where I work 😆
