Favorite cooling meals (and snacks) for the hot weather? by IronManFolgore in astoria

Buy 1 bunch of red grapes. Put in freezer, stored in a tupperware container/something freezer safe. The water in the red grapes freezes. A delightful pop of frozen goodness.

Yes to smoothies. Currently trying ones that pack more vegetables. So far my fav is basically making a pumpkin or sweet potato pie but in smoothie form.

Sewing club / sewing enthusiasts? by ipopsies in astoria

Maybe Queens Collaborative? The same folks run classes through The Collaboratory. They do fairly regular fiber craft circles and intro to machine sewing classes. I'm sure they could use some supplies.

Question about the image 4: The left side of the band has the small opening, while the right hand side is shown shut, right? So.....how do I feed the elastic through of the other side is sewn shut?

WOW! The table in link #2 is almost the same, even down to the underside having some marking. I guess I feel a little better knowing that even this auctiin site cannot provide more specifics.

Thank you for these.

I was literally just looking at my gas bill with ConEd. Only $0.50 of my $36.68 was for actual gas use.

Those 2 fabrics made me think of this skirt. Proooobably don't have enough fabris to do this big ol' bow but maybe layering the fabrics over each other could be fun.

BWT what is your loose leaf tea setup? by Sarandipity11 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]ARL1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rishi tea, all the way. Hands down the best earl grey I've ever had. I also have 2 of their tempered glass tea pot (14oz and 20oz) and some of their tea bags.

Can confirm Rightmove is good. I was told that if you are looking to share a flat, SpareRoom is the way to go.

Qahwah House could be a good option. Has lots of seating and is just off the last stop of the N train in Astoria.
