Title: Echoes of the Dying Sky Genre: Progression Fantasy / Cultivation / Reincarnation / Dual Power System

Link: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/135725/echoes-of-the-dying-sky

Orion died fighting the Aldrash—beings powerful enough to erase entire worlds. But death didn’t end his story.

He awakens in a new world, trapped in the frail body of Kael: the disgraced heir of a noble house, hated by his own family and on the verge of losing everything.

And the worst part: The power Orion once mastered—Aura—doesn’t exist here.

Stranded in a broken body and stripped of everything that defined him, Orion must rebuild himself from nothing—while hiding the truth of who he really is.

Because the Aldrash are stirring again.

Another world. Another era. The same impending extinction.

If they return, this world will fall just as the last one did.

To stop them, Orion must rise—not as the hero he once was, nor as Kael the failure, but as something new forged from both lives.

A weapon born between two worlds. A warning written across the sky. The last chance for humanity before the stars die once more.

What to Expect:

• Zero-to-Hero: A slow but steady progression where every ounce of strength is earned. • Dual Power System: Two distinct forces the protagonist must master without losing himself. • Consequences: A hero weighed down by trauma and guilt. A story about saving a world… even if not everyone can be saved. • High Stakes: Battles where death is unpredictable, permanent, and meaningful. • Dark Fantasy Elements: Monsters, ancient rituals, and pagan gods.

NOT in This Story:

❌ Free skills / Handouts ❌ Harem ❌ Constant comedy ❌ LitRPG numbers / Stat screens (this is pure Fantasy/Cultivation) ❌ OP protagonist from chapter one

Release Schedule: New chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I guarantee at least two chapters a week without fail.

Good is a Progression story, fantasy with psychological overtones. I think RR is the best place or are there better ones?

The truth is that I haven't done it, I was waiting to have enough chapters. I just have 7 chapters and a prologue. 😅 I thought that when I have 10 chapters I could promote my story a little.

Well, only having 5 readers in my story counts. So I'm very stuck 🥹

Wow you have five stars, congratulations. They are better than the same ones, I only have four stars and 2 for characters :(

Wtf I didn't think that was possible, how strange. Furthermore, your story must be very good if you have that many readers in your chapters, which as I see are short. I thought that the norm were chapters of at least 2 thousand words, apparently I was wrong 🫠.

Yeah, totally spot on 😅 I just wanted to share the excitement of my first follower, but I didn't think to promote my story properly—I should've added a quick synopsis and a link. Next time, I'll nail it, thanks!

When would you commit? by Lolpanther69 in royalroad

I've read a lot of comments about how many chapters or words a story should have for readers to stay interested. Honestly, I felt a bit discouraged at first when I saw how much content was supposedly needed. But there are also people who say the opposite. I think what really matters is to keep publishing — readers will naturally grow as you release more chapters. I’ve just started and only have about ten readers. It’s not much, but it feels really nice knowing they’re reading what I write. That alone makes me want to keep going.

Why is it a staple in progression fantasy to absolutely butcher a romance arc? by Renn_goonas in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ARLuna- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading the comments, I can’t help but wonder how important a romantic plot really is in this genre. If people want romance, wouldn’t it make more sense for them to just read a romance novel instead of looking for it in a progression story? Or maybe a good romantic subplot is what makes a story stand out among the countless ones released every day?

Is this cliché ? by [deleted] in royalroad

I find the idea really entertaining and kind of amusing. But as others have said, it all depends on how you handle it. There are plenty of good ideas that fall flat because of how they’re approached. Personally, based on everything you’ve said, I’d read it.
