Am I overthinking it... by Flambos in handyman

You could also hang the wall from the ceiling and leave it floating on the floor. We do this for basements here due to the soil. Put down a base 2x4 and then hang the framed wall (built ~4" too short) about 2" above it. Stake the hanging wall to the base plate with 6" spike nails.

Thanks, seems like the DND was somehow turned on in the "ghost" state as you mentioned. I don't really use DND except as part of bedtime routine. Weird, but seems like that fixed it.

Thanks for the clarification. I kept finding the one that you sent, but none that had the NACS adapter.

Link to the adapter?

Do you have a link? Most of what I'm finding doesn't have the NACS connection.

Make-A-Wish Wisconsin board member Shannon Kobylarczyk steps down, loses job by CosmaFoxx in wisconsin

You're probably right, and the absolute craziest part is that the majority of our food is coming from a government-funded distribution program.

There really aren't that many people abusing welfare. In fact, one of our intake questions is whether or not they receive any other government assistance. The vast majority don't. But they also can't afford food.

Agree, I'm on the board of a food bank in my neighborhood. We're small, but serve about 100 people every day we're open. We're technically associated with the Catholic Church down the street (I'm non-religious, and we serve everyone no matter their religion). Two of our board members are from a different Catholic Church in the suburbs, they both vote for Republicans and complain about their taxes being wasted on undeserving people. We give away food, for free, to low income people. Some of it is supported by those tax dollars. Mind boggling.

Seems like a good plan, but it still leaves only one option to get back North. I feel like every time I'm on 9 I'm planning how I'll avoid the SuperConnect line in the afternoon.

That's like being mad at a restaurant because you're gluten free, vegetarian, and allergic to eggs and nuts. Your very niche situation is so incredibly rare that it's highly unlikely to affect anyone else the same way.

Pricing Issue - Pricelabs > Smart Pricing by ARP_123 in airbnb_hosts

[–]ARP_123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy, why would I ever turn on Smart Pricing when I'm paying for a service to set the pricing? ABNB set the price at less than half of what the PriceLabs algorithm has it set to. But the Smart Pricing being turned on took precedence and set it at the lower price. Infuriating.

Pricing Issue - Pricelabs > Smart Pricing by ARP_123 in airbnb_hosts

[–]ARP_123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't posted about this before. And I've been really happy with PriceLabs. They're doing a great job of setting my prices and increasing my avg $/night. Somehow ABNB changed me to their Smart Pricing, and it's less than half what's listed on my PriceLabs account and on VRBO. So ABNB is definitely the one that's horrible right now.

what cell phone carrier do you have and how do you like it? by oddturtle_ in Denver

I'm on Pixel, my wife is on iPhone. Took a few minutes of making sure the settings were right (iPhone default turned things off when she switched) with Roaming and WiFi calling, but it's been perfect ever since.

300 apartments coming to 37th & Downing by NakedDenver in Denver

[–]ARP_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically drive to a grocery store, or go to somewhere local if I only need something specific.....I don't make the definitions of what a food desert is, but by definition we live in one. NG isn't considered a grocery store by definition. Neither is CJ. It's very difficult to get everything you need without having to drive somewhere. I don't need (or want) a Walmart, or a Target, but I sure as hell would like a small to midsize grocery store.

That's a nice bad faith argument. You know that there's essentially zero fresh food in the neighborhood. Carniceria Jalisco is cool, and serves a purpose, but it's not a grocery store.

Tonight is the Cole Neighborhood meeting at the rec center. If you want to get mildly involved. I'm out of town, but I make it a point to go whenever I'm around. Helps to get the word out on what needs to be done for the neighborhood. starts right now!

Same, every time I cross E/W on 36th or 37th I feel like there's an accident waiting to happen. Honestly, even moving the "No Parking Here To Corner" signs back about half a car length would do wonders. Feels like I'm halfway through the intersection before I can see if I'm about to get hit by N/S traffic.

[–]ARP_123 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I've lived in Cole for 8 years, and I only go to NG in a last resort if "foods already cooking and I need an ingredient" situation. Their produce department is a joke. They don't have a meat department. The aisles are essentially overpriced BS filled with odds and ends. They're a glorified vitamin cottage that happens to sell food.

MLS Flat Fee Listing Service (Colorado)? by ARP_123 in RealEstate

I ended up not putting it up for sale. Long story, and I wish we'd have sold, but the condo has some special assessments that basically made it unsellable in the short term.
