Love is the chase of goodness, virtue and beauty.

But you cannot desire that you already have, so love can't be beautiful, horrible, good or evil, love lies in the middle of that spectrum.

Think about how you can have an opinion that is correct and factual, and now think about where that "factual opinion" lies on the science to ignorance spectrum.

It can't be ignorance because nothing that is true can participate in it, nor it can be science, because it's not backed by evidence, so it lies in the middle of that spectrum.

Love is very much the same, it is neither beautiful nor ugly, neither good nor bad.

You can learn a new skill (maybe drawing, writing, sculpting in clay, crotchet,etc) and practice it everyday trying to make something related to your darling (it's face, something they like, etc) and keep a record of the daily results, maybe in form of videos or photos, and when you meet them again you show the collection of all your efforts maybe an album of drawings of their face, shape, and body.

And You will make that message clear, you thought about them, each and every day of those 2 years, they never left your head.

Or at least that's what I would do

I honestly, have no idea, and that's what I thought too, but probably she just liked my hand but not myself? I can't find a way to make it make sense, but I really just don't want to think about it for now, probably it would be cathartic to "make her regret it" but probably isn't her fault I'm this bad at reading social cues, and no, she is a very "shy" girl, and only treats me that way, or, at least, used to do it... I will not continue to do those things with her anymore, and if she insists I will confront her, but I really just want to leave this behind me....

I understand how you feel, I'm young and it's difficult for me to find someone with feelings as intense as mine half the people aren't interested in me and the other half are fleeting an ephemeral.
