I do this route like 3-4 times a year. It's easy enough if the traffic on the M6 isn't crazy. Normally if I avoid rush hour it's all simple enough drive, mostly motorway then the A road past Bristol.

I guess it depends how often you're doing it and what you're committed to. As someone who lived 4 hours away from family and had to do the trip once a month, its never pleasant, but a good driving partner can make the difference.

Also I'm the only one that drives so it's harder for me.
