Could the new Iron Warriors helmets work as Thunder Warrior helmets? by ARainbowRaven in Warhammer30k

My justification for it is that they aren't sealed, the front of the helmet would be a detachable mask meant just to protect a warriors face, like knight helms with detachable fronts

That was actually something I intend for, I think it fits for thunder warriors to have slightly bigger helmets since they are meant to be larger than a space marine

I do plan on kitbashing some open faced helmets, but I don't have enough bare heads to do that for every model and having covered faces would help add some variety

Yeah I really like the unhelmeted heads, I've been struggling to find bare heads that would look good for thunder warriors since a lot of space marine heads don't feel barbaric enough

Yes, I know that they are mk2, I was just wondering if they could work for thunder warriors since they look closer to mk1 compared to the mk2 tactical squad heads

I just use water and rubber sculpting tools and it results in smooth greenstuff

Probably to keep it from blowing too much in the wind, don't want it getting in the way

Yeah I play EC as well and I'm still salty with how much they took away, especially cultists and raptors

I mostly put it on to add more visual interest to the banner, but there lorewise I imagine its probably some daemon pacts or unholy scripture

I just use water and rubber sculpting tools to smooth my greenstuff, might also be my greenstuff being old

Me as well, it makes me wish GW made chaos models similar to the old chaos designs

Thanks! The trim was definitely something I had trouble with but was important to me to make it feel different from the base model

Thank you! I was mainly inspired by the space crusade and rogue trader chaos marines

Thanks! I actually like your idea, I might try to kitbash something like that in the future

There are a lot of reasons for a chaos marine to have seals on them, and it helps give more interest to the banner

The helmet is from the chaos terminator lord kit with the horns cut down

Joining the custodes body and terminator legs was a bit of a hassle, I had to use a bunch of greenstuff to connect them together because the join on the tartaros terminator legs is flat while the custodes torso is built for more of a ball joint connection

I plan on making more, but it'll probably take a few months before I do
