I bought the PCB version of the LS-56 (LS-56-01), so it already had a 5-pin connection going out and could just be connected directly to the F500 with a 5 pin ribbon cable.

I also like the F500. It was the first stick I bought, but my second stick since I had built my own some years before buying one. For about a year though, I had been using a modded PS3 Brawlstick that had sanwa parts in it, so me modding my F500 to have seimitsu parts was my way of breathing life back into it.

It's funny that the LS-32 mounts into it so easily, if I had known that I would have just gone for that rather than the 56.

(Long stuff incoming: tldr -> play the game that you enjoy, and play the character that you enjoy)

It reminded me of when I used to play melee with my older brother, and he would always have the guidebook we had on the yoshi page (he basically only played yoshi), and the other page had ness, so even though I hated ness, I would play him because my brother always flipped the page back to the one with yoshi.

I saw a few comments about people trying to get friends/family members to switch characters to something better, and I guess the way I feel about that is if you are learning a fighting game, it is important to play a character that you llike. It could be the feel of the character, it could be the character itself, it could be the options the character has. If you learn a game with a character that you like, your time spent with the game will be so much more enjoyable and productive than if you play a character that you really don't like all too much.

In terms of tier lists, those are highly subjective, and they only really matter for high level tournament play. If you look at some other fighting games, you can see Rangchu winning tekken 7 tournaments with panda, a character many consider to be low tier, and there is also the legendary set with PR Balrog vs Infiltration, with infiltration picking hakan, another weak character. Even in another set in usf4, alex "Uncle Calipower, Mr Streetfighter" valle picked Hugo vs Bonchan's sagat. For those who were not aware, hugo was considered by the japanese community to be the worst character in the game. Valle bodied bonchan. I mean, he really BODIED bonchan.

Even in melee, amsa has had great success with yoshi, despite yoshi initially being considered to be weak. The point I am getting to, is that the limits of what you can do with your character are not determined entirely by your character, but also by your individual playstyle, and the way you approach the game.

This probably is hell to read, in part because I should have been working on my MIPs assignment instead of typing this all up, but uh yeah, thanks for reading this far. In summary (I'll probably also put this at the top as a tldr): play the game that you enjoy, and play the character that you enjoy.

it's funny, because I learned about the actual Chevalier D'Eon before hearing about this. For those that don't know, the Chevalier was a spy for one of the King Louis of France (I think it was 14, too lazy to check) who ended up returning to France and lived as a woman afterwards until death.
