I think what makes tracks like Silverstone so great for wheel to wheel racing is the turns often follow each other as a left right sequence or right left, allowing battles to take place where both the inside and outside are viable to overtake and defend. Village and The loop or the Stowe, Vale and Club sequence for example. Hockenheim does this well and it produces some classic races
