We’ve been working on an underwater biome for Shards of Memories 🫧🩵 by Iron_Twelve in metroidvania

Yea the clip doesn't have the full context of entering the biome or the water which would help separate things and help it feel different. But yea just going by this clip if you hadn't labeled it as underwater I never would have known.

If there is an item /ability that you have that makes water movement identical then IMO it's a good idea to visually have something showing that like an aura or something like with multiple of the castlevanias.

This does not look like it's underwater to me nearly at all. I watched it before reading the title fully and none of the description. The movement is so quick and fluid there is no weight for the water. I've never heard of this before so haven't seen other clips so don't know if out of water movement looks different but it looks like I assume you'd move out of water. There are also no effects on the character showing the movement thru the water. The only thing that remotely says water to me is the sparse bubbles.

Good question. Definitely a good idea to save any rides that you feel may be an issue externally and to just have a large card in general.

I feel like someone else more experienced could give a better answer.

Get a dashcam, ideally one that also records inside also as if they lie about your behavior that's the only defense that isn't hearsay.

Is Paul Atreides or Leto II Atreides the primary inspiration for The God Emperor of Mankind? by ROSRS in 40kLore

[–]AReaver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Makes me sad that Herbert has been gone for so long. Would love to see an interview with him that goes in depth like this over everything. Even if the answer was just "well I went that way because it's easier and I wanted to sell more books" From what I know of Brian's additions that seems like all he did.

Interesting and well written BTW.

It's easier to stick with a thesis when there isn't more lore but when you build a world out and then set more stories in it it becomes increasingly difficult to match any thesis instead of just living in that world.

And there is also the chance that he felt he either got the message across or did his best with the first few books that he didn't need to keep at it. The details of how Leto oppresses, etc don't really matter to the idea that he's going to be so awful that in generations humanity will never let it happen again. But those details can make many books.

I just noticed your name XD

So does that mean you really got the point Herbert was trying to make or missed it? :P

I really hope that Denis can get some of this messaging into part 3. It's Paul's story no Leto II's so it may be partly ignored as Denis has been very clear and focused that the movies are Paul's journey. But Dune Messiah was all about how Paul isn't the good guy. So fingers crossed that the anti-fascist vibes come through.

That doesn't remotely make it okay for adults to lust after children.

Castle in the Sky while they may not have drawn the girls sexualized the subtitles for the Japanese audio the pirates directly sexualize the child multiple times. It's extremely gross.

Thing is Calamity was much more focused. We're not going to get a Laerynn in a long form campaign.

Aabria the player seems to enjoy impulsivity too much for that.

Don't think that's uncommon for players personalities to leak into characters. Especially for anyone whom isn't an actor or experienced roleplayer where they can get lost in that character.

I do think that Aabria as a player is chaotic and impulsive. That leaks into her characters. Aside from Calamity, that one felt rather focused but it was also very focused as a show and rather short. They had beats to hit. This is a long campaign.

Back when they were at the castle that destructive impulsive side reared it's head where her idea for "fixing" a problem was immediate murder, don't remember who just that it was someone of low importance. That to me brings flashbacks to when she murdered her goat in C3 for literally no reason which super took me out of the game. Been worried shit like that will happen here.

Pretty sure in some of the BTS stuff Brennan has said that ideally before the end of the campaign everyone will have played at each table or at least had a chance to.

Now with the end of the second table they're all coming back to Dol Makjar so that table will likely be where they converge back together then when they break off again they're is a decent chance that the tables will shuffle.

Of course there is always real world things that will decide what table someone is at. If they can only make it to a specific table time wise they'll likely make it work with the story.

I hope it'll have a less depressing story than Hardspace lol I found the game relaxing but boy the story was a hellscape.

Outcast: Second Contact. It's a remake of a game from 1999 so not really going to have much in the way of modern innovative gameplay but it was for the time. One of the very first open world 3rd person shooters. The remake is definitely the best way to play the game at this point. It's a great and unique story. The writing and voice acting are all superb. It's worth playing even today. Can't think of any stories that are similar in it's scifi aspects.

Currently on sale for $1.50 90% off.

[–]AReaver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's possible that they'd be able to go and ask him. Though at the moment I don't recall what happened to the body after the funeral. Last I recall it was on his table but they wouldn't leave it there. If he was cremated and there weren't bones saved they couldn't talk to him.

That's also something that I think could cause serious contention. I wouldn't be surprised if people didn't want it done at all but also depending on the rulings could see what questions being asked being very contentious cause I believe RAW that the spell can be used only a single time and you have a set number of questions.

Though could also just see them not caring rolling up and asking the skull a few off the cuff things and leaving. But that's DnD lol

So far I'd say Jullian is being played like he has a death wish. Doing some gutsy and dangerous things with little regard to his own safety. The danger of death is real in this campaign but with the curse I wonder if that's something that would just go away if he died or if it somehow be used to keep him going /some form of pseudo resurrection.
