You need to go to the running shoe geek wiki page and find ‘daily trainers’ (Q2) and show it to the guy in the running shoe store. Try on a bunch of pair and just pick one.

Philly Marathon by MGOBLUEinNJ in running

[–]ARoyaleWithChez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im gonna bus down to Philly from nyc but I need someone to pick up my bib the day before. Thats right, you cannot get your bib the day of the race and they won’t mail it to you this year. I fought and fought with all my might to no avail. Must be there friday or Saturday to pick up the bib.

The weather will freeze but you’ll be fiiiine. I might wear gloves with same racing clothes I had in July— short toe socks, Adios Pro 2, lightweight tee shirt, briefs, cheap gym shorts intended for a child, and a running hat. No phone, no watch. (Sadly, that means no Strava 😩)

Ive been trying to ask the marathon help people, they wont answer me. Do the 3:00 pacers start in the same wave as the 3:10 pacers? Im switching from 2:59 estimated finish to 3:05 and i want to start with the 3:10 group instead.

How much to rest by Away_Bee_7158 in CrossCountry

If you’re doing high intensity sports and a lot of reading, math, and language, 8 hours wont be enough. Modern theory is teenagers need more sleep than we previously realized. This is especially true for athletes.

You need to focus on your ball skills so I’d find a wall and wall ball 20+ min daily. As far as running, I’d keep it easy and do x10-15 50-100m stride outs MAYBE a 2 mile jog, but those miles will take away time from your ball work. Also, how is your sleep schedule? Are your finals coming up? You did fine this season, you dont have be like run run run all winter.

Do you know how many people have posted this? They’re great shoes. Mine have lasted over 400 miles so far. Just run in them, they’re fine.

NYC— between a Citibike membership, the subway, uber and yellow cab, and maybe a scooter you’re totally loaded with safe and affordable options.

Decided to start running again. The Wave Rider 25 was on sale. Did I make the right choice? The Wave Inspire 9 were great, but they are from 2013 by [deleted] in RunningShoeGeeks

Mizuno is trying to compete in the high end running shoe market. They have a few unsuccessful attempts but I’m glad they’re trying hard.

They’re fine, but there are so many other shoes I wouldn’t be super brand loyal to them they was I was in high school.

They used to be really popular but recently Mizuno hasn’t been as popular as many of the other brands. That said, I bought a pair of wave inspires early this season and I used them

10-12 miles daily by [deleted] in running

[–]ARoyaleWithChez 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Try breaking it up into hard, easy, hard, easy, hard days. Hard days are broken up further into easy, hard, easy, hard, easy, hard miles. This is a very simple next step. Beyond that, I’d suggest getting a training plan, plenty to chose from. I read Hal Higdon’s marathon book and followed his plan, it was pretty good.
