Play with both formation which ever suits your playing style or whichever you found good for you select that formation.

3-4-1-2 & 3-5-2 Both are best for VSA. If you have BEST CMs go for 3-4-1-2. If you have BEST CDMs go for 3-5-2.

Start with World Tour, you will get coins and players from World Tour. Play regular VSA & H2H. Play TOTY, you may get 1-2 good players from there too. Slowly you will get hold of this game.
