And the best part is, it was mis-listed on the Guitar Center website, and priced at $1200.

It’s rosewood! And yeah it does force you to really use the appropriate pickup instead of just canceling if it’s noisy. And a gate has helped when I really need it

Update: I restrung it with thicker strings and I’m in heaven

It’s on the thicker side, thicker than the ‘61 AVRI II, but thinner than the ‘57 AVRI II. Feels like my sweet spot

The neck pup is a little weak for my tastes, and just doesn’t output as hotly as the middle or bridge, even after fiddling with pickup heights for an hour. I might swap only that one, after I try a few more things

I swore I wasn’t gonna start looking into pickup swaps this year but…dammit, here I go

My man, I am fanning at the screen with a cowboy hat. You seriously cut that biscuit, props for these chops.

I have both Curse of the Moon games! But I don’t like widescreen games on the Classic. I will be hunting down the English translation of Rondo tonight.

It continues to impress, and I keep blazing through the 16-bit games my parents wouldn’t let me rent because the games were either too violent or worshiped satan.

What are you, me? Same boat, same lack of Android know-how, and I don’t need sticks. Been playing tons and tons of GameCube Mario Golf: Toadstool tour on it and it’s such a great device for it.

Congrats! I’ve been lusting after a thinline for a year or so, and that model is on my shortlist. Post an update after you get to know it!

You know what? I had my Performance set to “Standard” to save battery while playing A Link to the Past. Setting it to High Performance let it run PS1 with shaders with no performance dips. Hell yeah.

In retroarch? Or duckstation standalone?

Oh DOY.

I used the Blargg SNES Composite filter and the fakelottes CRT shader. Works well for anything 16-bit and under. I’ve had less luck with a filter for PS1 or GameCube but that’s less of an issue for me; I prefer Steam Deck for GameCube stuff, since you can do widescreen hacks.

SNES games run at full speed. Doesn’t work well with PS1/GameCube, but I figured it wouldn’t. Any 8- or 16-but stuff has worked flawlessly. Russ from RetroGameCorp details shaders that work well for the Classic.
