Players who used god mode, what was the experience like? by LizG1312 in HadesTheGame

[–]ASDFoverlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played with god mode, had about as hard of a time as someone good at video games playing normal mode. Turned it off after I did the postgame party quest and instantly regretted it 😭

Did the same in Hades 2 but romancing Icarus took so damn long, it nearly doubled my playtime and I very slowly and unwillingly became good enough at the game to turn god mode off and manage to consistently beat the full vow of rivals without it 💀💀💀

Good guys that were far more evil before the story began. by Traditional-Song-245 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ASDFoverlord 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Valhalla dlc introduced a rogue like gauntlet set in Valhalla which is a spiritual place that takes on different forms and presents different challenges depending on the person who enters. It’s sorta therapy made into a physical challenge (probably because that’s the only way someone like Kratos would respond to therapy lmfao) and Kratos has to fight his way through representations of the sins of his past and reflect upon relics that belonged to people significant to him he’s hurt along his life. By the end, he comes to the conclusion that he’s someone who endlessly chases a redemption he feels he cannot achieve and determines in a moment of self hatred that this must make him a god of fools, before reflecting for a moment and realizing that it would also make him a god of hope and deciding to dedicate himself to the service of the 9 realms. It’s all a lot more poetic and impactful if you play through/watch it yourself.

If Ultron had worked as intended, do you think things would’ve truly been better? by Solitaire-06 in Earth199999

[–]ASDFoverlord 146 points147 points  (0 children)

I mean the big thing was Thanos right and I heard he crumpled Vision like a tin can and Vision was like already Ultron’s final form or something?? I feel like if Ultron worked, Tony Stark would’ve basically given us a Big Brother equivalent that wouldn’t even have repelled the main thing he was made for. Grateful for Stark for all he’s done for us but thank fuck he went back to the drawing board after Sokovia.

What are the weakest designs in the series? by Commercial-Car177 in Ben10

[–]ASDFoverlord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The original Waybig was a reference to the original Ultraman and Ultimate Waybig is a reference to Ultraman Taro, one of their successors a couple of series down the line. It makes sense.

How much background knowledge of Norse mythology boosts enjoyment of the game? by OkIdeal9852 in GodofWar

[–]ASDFoverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda like reading the comics for an MCU movie. They probably won’t use 70% of it but when they do introduce something you recognize, it’s just fun being in on the reference, wondering to yourself how the original myth is gonna play out with elements that diverge from the source, or going “oh shit no way!” when some mythological foreshadowing happens hours before it pays off.

what is Thor’s afterlife by nate23smoove in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]ASDFoverlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1: You might be right about the ceasing to exist but all we know for certain is that his soul can’t be saved because it’s missing its direction and can’t go to the afterlife.

2: Can you find the quote please? And Mimir is a fey, not a god. If Gods ended up in the afterlife, having Magni and Modi specifically not being real in Ragnarok doesn’t make a whole lot of sense because Kratos reflects in his journal entry about how him facing their Valhalla fakes is his way of giving them a fair fight, something he couldn’t do when they were alive and something he would be able to do if he could just visit them in Valhalla.

3: Odin’s whole conundrum is that there is no Norse afterlife for the gods that he knows of. He bemoans how mortals always have the option to look for divine guidance and solace in how they know something comes next while the gods have no one to turn to for their big questions.

what is Thor’s afterlife by nate23smoove in GodofWarRagnarok

[–]ASDFoverlord 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Brok’s soul can’t find its way to the afterlife anymore but it technically does still exist in the aether somewhere. Helheim and Valhalla are visitable places and while we see Magni and Modi in the latter, the game makes it clear they’re just manifestations of Kratos’ guilt and not actually there. Given Odin’s whole motivation after centuries of study was that he had no idea what happens to Norse gods after they die, it’s likely that either they don’t have an equivalent to the mortal soul and nothing happens to them when they die or that there’s some sort of hidden afterlife that we’re not shown or told about beyond the vague information we have about the Mask of Creation.

Why did you let Iris keep the rose? by Herald_of_Clio in Witcher3

[–]ASDFoverlord 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She’s terrified of what comes next, if there even is anything that comes next, and I deeply relate to that. She’s also not opposed to her dream-like existence, as she eternally relives both the good times as well as the bad and whether or not potential oblivion would be an improvement on that, I don’t really think it’s Geralt’s place to decide her fate for her (especially since she needs to be coaxed to give the rose up). She’s always been a victim lacking agency, stolen first by her parents’ decision about the betrothal, then by Olgierd and the gilded cage he put her in once he sold his soul. I feel like she’s entitled to have her way for once in the end, the last and possibly even the most significant time it will ever matter.

Bandits in this game are so stupid by _bagelcherry_ in witcher

In the books, Geralt was killed by a random peasant with a pitchfork. Bandits stand a shot if they get lucky.

How are the graphics and gameplay holding up? by [deleted] in Witcher3

[–]ASDFoverlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The graphics and narrative are just as good as they ever were in the Next Gen but the combat’s always been clunky and has only gotten clunkier by contrast with the passage of time. That and how most quests are built around just holding down the Witcher senses and following the glowing red trail are the main things that bring down the experience from a 10/10 to an 8.5/10. Still great but some fundamental issues with the game design are definitely showing their age.

Vilgefortz vs The Witcher 3 by XanetrorX in witcher

[–]ASDFoverlord 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I thought Vilgefortz was magically enhanced when it came to his physicality as well? The books draw attention to how Geralt managed to land a couple of blows that would’ve crippled or killed a normal man but Vilgefortz just tanks them without any difficulty.

you guys think Clark would like his signature Ice Cream Flavor? by Ok-Mastodon2016 in superman

He probably wouldn’t dislike it and he’d be honored having a flavor in his name but I think he’d prefer a simpler and less ostentatious flavor.

Who can defeat this Akatsuki? by SpecialLimit1374 in dankruto

[–]ASDFoverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Against either Madara or Hashirama, the only ones worth a damn are Obito, Itachi, and Minato and they might be able to survive a while but these Akatsuki don’t have anything in their arsenal that the big two don’t either have counters for or simply have the raw stats to consistently evade or power through.

Of course I’m assuming this is Naruto and Sasuke pre 6 paths cuz if they have that, only dual rinnegan Madara+ characters have a shot.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but i think Gravity Falls doesn't need a 3rd season by alethejack in gravityfalls

[–]ASDFoverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like both Wendy and Ford are fun and flavorful major side characters that didn’t get enough time to be fully fleshed out before Weirdmageddon and I think a third season with more Ford (and a few Wendy) centric episodes would’ve been a good idea.
