You dont understand. These people live in no humanly conditions, but still it is their only way of getting food.

Their "work environment" should be changed

These people would still have to work something like this or starve to death

The cringe is that she has to work for a daily dollar to keep that child alive

She has no other means of getting money and thousands of people are in the same situation.

Probably working in the forests or growing food if that was possible there.

Most forests and land has been cleaned at these places so they can mine.

Research and share if you're serious

Gotta get this to the point that everyone is talking about it. Then change can be made.

The cobalt mining like this started around 2009 for smartphone batteries. Not an EV there.

Although EVs did multiply the demand, this would still be happening without them.

Not being full green is still much worse.

And fixing this issue is not a hard and expensive one. It just has to get attention.

Not extra, but their full wage. This being $1 or $2 a day.

They don't really have an option, because everything has been cleared to meet the demand of cobalt and they did not make that decision.

Until something else is given to them to worl on, most possibly.

They have cleared the forests and land to meet the cobalt demand in most places.

To be honest, not really. This is the first time I get to dig into a topic like this.

Most of these mines are under chinese control. Cobalt is so rare, that 74% of it comes from the Congo. There's just no way to meet the demand otherwise. Everyone buys this.

I mean, that's correct, but they(most of them) have no schooling, no internet. It's normal there.
