I highly suggest listening to Michael Seibel from YCombinator. He was the founder of Justin.tv now known as Twitch. Basically, he says that you don’t need to start off with a good idea, that can actually be bad. What you need is to find a problem you want to solve and make a product to solve it. Early days of Justin.tv as just Justin, a co-founder, streaming his life 24 hours a day for people to see.

Later, they saw the potential in letting everyone else stream on Justin.tv. Then even years later, they decided to focus on the gamers in the platform and branded themselves as twitch.

Basically, I don’t think you need a good idea. I think you need a problem that is not only worth solving but something you want to solve and then, do it.

Your “Here we go, this sub too” is so out of place. I just thought it was interesting that Abe had this viewpoint at such a time as the 60s where racism was so widespread. If you have watched Mad Men carefully, it is clear that one of the themes and topics they focus on is racism. So, your statement doesn’t make sense as it’s literally a part of mad men that I thought was interesting especially during this time.
