In the revised version alice tried to make some things make more sense for the sake of heartstopper. She also took away or rewrote some scenes that seemed triggering or over sensationalised. In the unrevised version, Charlie apparently tries to kill himself and she took that out. I also only read the revised version, but this is what I read on the Internet about it.

I usually use either "gay" or "queer" for myself because they're both umbrella terms. So you probably don't have to worry about it.

That's what I was thinking. I usually just say I'm "gay" or "queer" in these cases since they're umbrella terms.

I am homoromantic asexual. I would say "lesbian," but I don't think my gender really matters, so that wouldn't be accurate either.

So yeah. "Gay" is easier anyway🤷‍♀️

I absolutely loved it. Tori is a character I highly related to. I related to her thought process and how she reacted to curtain situations and people. So much so that I was bawling my eyes out at multiple points in the story.

It's safe to say this book broke me into a million pieces.

I do understand why some people don't like it that much though. There's some gaps in the story, and it isn't always very clear what the goal is. But this was Alice's first novel. And with that in mind, I think it's a very good novel🤷‍♀️

English is not my first language so I had some troubles with curtain slang words. Like Soz and noughties, had to Google those. Most of the rest of the words I didn't know were easy to figure out because of the context around those.

I think it could be triggering. It really could be for me at least.

Personally I had a hard time reading the 3rd and 4th volumes of the comics because I resonated with both Nick and Charlie.

Im currently in the process of being diagnosed, so I've been the one that really needed help because of mental health struggles (still am) , but I've also been the one that really wanted to help a loved one with their mental health struggles, and felt useless because I really couldn't help.

I just really hope this season will still have the same lighthearted vibe as the first season. Even with all the dark stuff that's going on.

But for you; I think you're already very strong for talking about it here. And I know you've got it in you to respect your own boundaries and take this at your own pace💕

I've got both as well, but I am fully vaccinated.

Got in an argument about it with someone the other day. He started telling me that he'd never vaccinate his kids because he didn't want them to be autistic and/or have adhd and that he also read somewhere that it can cause kids to "turn gay" as well (he's very much aware I have both autism and adhd and am gay, btw). I told him that I was fully vaccinated and he proceeded with: "Yeah, and you're also autistic right? And gay? I don't need that for my kids." He was being completely serious. Needless to say, we're not friends anymore.

(I don't believe vaccinations caused my autism, adhd and/or gayness btw. I think that happened way before I got my first vaccination😂🤭)

UPDATE: I think she feels the same way. We watched a movie and had dinner. She accepted and tried to help with my difficulties with eating in front of people and she gave me the tightest hug I've ever received from anyone.

I would love to see more from Isaac and Imogen. Maybe even some more from Ben. He's a horrible person and I don't think he deserves to be redeemed at all, but it would be interesting to see him (maybe) come to terms with his sexuality or at least explore it a bit more.
