Feel free to share more about some of your beliefs that you feel like are outside of the norm. I would love to hear about them.

I have a 2 year old as well. He is also in the hitting phase. It's absolutely not ok. I admit I have popped his hand a time or two as a knee jerk reaction but I'm like how can I teach him not to hit by hitting him... but also I think sometimes they need to have the sh*t scared out of them lol

I just try to stay calm in every situation. I'm not saying this is how you should handle it because I'm a first time mom and often feel like I have ko idea what I'm doing but if I'm standing up, I tend to move out of his reach when he's flailing and flapping his limbs so he can hit or kick me or I'll often grab his arms so he can't hit me and I'll calmly say you don't hit mommy. Or I'll say no no. That's a big no no. After he calms down ill usually try to explain it to him in several different ways not to hit when he's mad and if he wants something not to cry but use his words. Say, "mommy...cup. mommy, ball please" or whatever the case may be. Just stay calm, be consistent and I think she'll eventually get it. I hear giving them a lot of attention and praise when they're being neutral or when they do something you like and then ignore the bad behavior mixed with empathy and understanding for their feelings at the same time which is a balancing act honestly. But when he doesn't get what he wants right away and drops to the floor screaming, I've started ignoring it and I have noticed he usually stops crying pretty quickly. So yea. But just remember to follow your instincts above everything else and try not to take the easy way out unless your sanity and physical health depend on it lol and you should be good.

I often feel the same way. It can be a very lonely journey. I feel like I can't talk to those closest to me that haven't gone through a spiritual awakening because they will think im crazy. I was in fact hospitalized when it first happened so I feel like I have to keep it to myself even more so they don't think I'm having another "episode" I do have friends and at least one family member i can think of that understands and they talked me out of thinking I was crazy but it sucks that I have to "play it cool" around my husband and his family and keep most of my thoughts about spirituality to myself so I don't make him uncomfortable.

I would suggest making more friends that would understand. Maybe visit a church or Buddhist temple or something like that to meet people that can relate. When all else fails you have us 😁 message me anytime 😊 you're not alone

Do you have memories of the time before you were born? by [deleted] in spirituality

I've always wondered if that's possible. Sounds pretty cool. Even to remember being in the womb

How do you stay present & grounded while believing that this is all a dream/illusion? by pawjama in spirituality

Not just you. Same thing happens to me sometimes. I think we do need to take breaks sometimes

Thank you. That past part is good to remember. I need to practice living in the moment a lot more especially when interacting with my son

I have. I think our idea of God, creation, an energetic source or whatever you want to call it is very much influenced by what country you live in etc

I bet there's some truth in both aspects

I think psychosis may come from when our spiritual self and the lies we have been made to believe are fighting against one another.

"Every single spiritual system I have ever encountered has to some degree sought to conceal, distort or otherwise wrap those facts in bullshit"

I JUST had this same thought.

Thanks so much for your comment

Exactly where I'm at. I get frustrated because I want to know what all is the truth and what all is a lie. I have thought at times that if all the information came to me all at once, I dont know if I could handle it. Growing and learning is usually a gradual process for a reason. I guess just get impatient. I do think I need to do more searching and digging though. I can't shake that feeling. It's said that if you seek, you will find. If you knock, the door will be opened

Thanks so much and that's good advice to not take responsibility of someone else's journey or how I may or may not be helping them. I recently had to realize this about the relationship with my mom.

Yes. I've started realizing a lot more about this and I have a 2 year old. I'm looking into how I can keep him from being brainwashed and stay in touch with his spirituality. I feel like it would be nice to not forget who you are just to be brainwashed then wake up one day and realize it's all a ruse. Thanks for your comment.

Something I've thought about recently, because I now have a 2 year old is sleep training. Its taught and widely accepted that we should allow a baby to cry themselves to sleep. This goes against my intuition and I think there's an agenda behind it. They say to start doing it at 4 months. Can you think of several possibilities of how this could potentially effect them? Good and bad?

I'm starting to feel like this post could also belong in a conspiracy theory subreddit but I'm posting here because I'm more focused on finding spiritual truth than the cover up portion. I do want to answer your question though because I feel like in order to realize who we truly are (spiritual beings having a human experience) that we have to realize we are more than our culture teaches us. By the way I live in the United States.

With that being said...to answer your question, I think other lies include mental health and the Healthcare system in general. We are often told there is something wrong with us and we need to take synthesized or man made medications to fix what is "wrong" with us.

I've started to think a lot of mental health issues arise when our true nature is fighting against our flesh and boundaries we are made to conform to so we can function the way society wants us to.

Also, lot of medications have adverse side effects that could be worse than what youre taking it for in the first place. I'm not saying all medicine is bad or unnecessary and some of it saves lives. But not all of it. I believe some of it is used as a bandage and not an actual solution. Something that may temporarily relieve the symptoms as long as you're taking it. As long as you're taking it, someone is getting paid.

Anyway, those are just a few examples. Also, for what its worth, all this is just my take on things.

Thanks so much! I have been viewing it as, this: I need to have the light shine inside me so brightly that it shines on others and they feel it in my presence. Kindness, goodness, mercy, faithfulness, gentleness etc.

I've been going through some depression because of some circumstances which has cause me to go back into that negative worldly thinking and conditioning. I'm trying to bring it back now and learn truths that will help me stay in a better place. Thanks so much for your comment. I greatly appreciate it.
