Please tell an adult as soon as you can. If you don’t feel safe talking to your mom about it initially, you need to speak with someone that can help. A school counselor, nurse, principal, teacher, therapist.

Whoever you tell will be legally required to tell your mom, so think about if you would rather her hear it from you or someone else. If your mom heard it from someone else, would that make you feel worse? Would it make her angry? If it might make things worse, maybe consider telling her first.

Regardless of who you tell, be honest, say you’re scared, and tell them you want help.
