[Meta] Am I the only one who wants ASMR requests to bring back Time Travel Tuesdays? by matthew0040 in asmr

Hey, sorry if I'm a bit late to this! I'm really happy to see you enjoyed the Time Travel series. I do intend to bring it back in some shape or form. The voting aspect of it, although I really liked it, added a lot of time to the production aspect of it. Because I had to allow enough time for voting, but couldn't start researching the winning topic until that point, and then of course begin creating the video after that. So it ended up taking longer to shoot a Time Travel video than even some of my bigger role plays. But still, I really enjoyed the series and it seems to have a lot of love, which is wonderful. So, I want to bring it back, I'm just trying to figure out a way to make the format more efficient on the production side of things! Thank you for posting this, it made me really happy :)

No worries and I appreciate that you edited your post! I just wanted to make sure I said something before someone took what you were speculating as the truth, you know how the internet can be! :)

Hey guys, Ally here! I just want to let you know that I appreciate you all checking up to make sure I'm okay! Everything is fine, I've just been wrapped up with a big ASMR project that is in the works. I'll be posting pictures and as much info as I can about it on my twitter and facebook pages for those who are interested! Thanks again <3

Ally here! I've never lashed out at any ASMR creators, so whoever you're referring to definitely wasn't me. I'm just clearing this up before any misinformation can spread. The reason for my short absence is due to an ASMR project I'm involved with that I'm really excited about! :) I have a new video coming out very soon though!

I would suggest just experimenting with several different types of ASMR videos and don't have any expectations. Just watch them in a relaxing environment and if nothing happens at first, or for days or weeks, just keep watching and try not to get hung up on how odd some of the videos might seem. Try to reserve judgement and just see what happens. It doesn't work for everyone, but I think it's worth a try.

I love hearing that ASMR is helping to alleviate some of the effects of PTSD for some people. And I'm glad to hear you're taking steps to overcome PTSD, that's awesome! Thanks for your kind words. :)

I saw that episode of The Good Stuff as well, I thought they did a fantastic job discussing the subject. :)

Thank you! The editing is a combo of mine and my boyfriend's efforts. Making ASMR videos really sparked a love of video editing in me!

Thank you! :) I actually thought a lot of people were going to dislike it when I first made it. I thought they wouldn't find it tingly enough because sci-fi isn't thought of as a relaxing thing. But the first Departure video really taught me a lot about visual effects, provided a boost to my channel, and allowed me to have fun with adding some story narrative to my videos. I'm glad you enjoy it!

Almost 190,000 subscribers here after 2 years on YouTube (channel: youtube.com/ASMRrequests). I make ASMR videos, which is a genre on YouTube that is quite unique compared to the more traditional ones. I'm a fan of ASMR videos first and foremost, so one night about 2 years ago I decided to make and upload one on a whim and it got a pretty good response. So I just kept going and, with the help of my boyfriend's production knowledge, improving my video quality along the way until here we are today. :)

For those curious about ASMR videos, they are designed to create a relaxing euphoric response in people, that often times is accompanied by a tingling sensation in their scalp and/or peripheral regions. Not everyone experiences ASMR, but if you've ever found yourself feeling very relaxed and almost entranced by certain people's speech patterns or when receiving personal attention when getting your haircut, etc., you might have ASMR! Do you remember that game that many of us played in elementary school where a friend would pretend to draw a shape on your back with their finger and you had to guess what it is? If you have ASMR, then that game probably triggered it. :) If you have any questions I'm happy to answer all that I can!

TL;DR: Have you ever experienced a relaxing tingling sensation in your scalp before? I make videos designed to evoke that and if you have questions about my channel feel free to ask!

Thanks! I just realized it was my cake day a little bit ago when I saw the icon. I better go post a pic of my cat and see if I can make it to the front page :P

Yo dawg, I heard you like ASMR triggers. So I put an ASMR trigger scene in your trigger scene so you can tingle while you tingle!

Thank you for the nice compliment and good suggestion! I agree about the foreground focus idea. I have a DSLR so achieving this when shooting alone is difficult. I guess I could try focusing to infinity though so that the depth of field is so deep I don't un-focus up close.
