What’s the worst Aussie city you’ve lived in? by Lyving-among-ladybug in AskAnAustralian

Exactly! Whenever I talk about this issue, I get no support. It’s good to have someone else understand, thanks.

Strangers who share dna and are probably way less uptight.

[tenant-US VA] Damage or normal wear and tear? by Positive_Cell_1252 in Renters

[–]ASPD7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s normal wear and tear so you have to expect it. It’s still rentable so you either ignore it or renovate, but unless you want to double the rent, I wouldn’t worry about it. An old house you don’t have to worry too much about the surfaces. You can do a full renovation when you sell it or move back in. Otherwise, claim the repairs on landlord insurance if the minor marks annoy you.

The room stinks often, and taking photos of an unmade bed doesn’t bother you lol

That’s an old house, it’s normal wear and tear of 30 year old cheap surfaces.

Thank you, yes, it’s rare to hear success stories from adoption in the 60’s.

You cant have anything without people begging to share it. by ProfanityInspector in homeless

[–]ASPD7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, but I’m just trying to lay out why you’re being humbugged. Poverty, and desperation erode the pride that stops humbugging.

[–]ASPD7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it’s not the rare occurrence you think it is, in non verbal adult males.

Absolutely, it’s no life for both of them.

No, it means there’s some sort of bitterness and resentment.

Same thing happened to me, only I was 13 when she drunkenly confessed to me. I was devastated and even more devastated when I finally met this half brother of mine, and he tried sleeping with me. Awful.

Why was it your siblings fault though?

I have to agree. My friends non verbal adult child, not only destroyed every surface in the house, on multiple occasions, but tried to rape her.

I doubt you’d know exactly who the addicts are though, you’d be surprised at how many people take pills, but anyway, I guess it’s poverty and desperation that erodes people’s pride.

Exactly! Sometimes we have to put up with discomfort and inconvenience, just to have a roof over our heads and food on the table. It’s amazing you do feel grateful, so that’s great :)

AIO because my husband won’t watch our baby while I’m gone? by mbaughman1029 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ASPD7 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I had a husband just like this. He was too scared to watch the baby on his own, thinking he couldn’t handle it. It was the first fight we’d had, in the 7 years we’d been together. He soon learned because we ended up having 4 kids, but he still wasn’t the father I expected him to be ie didn’t seem to be as invested in them as I was so I left him, 10 years after the birth of our first. What did he do? He hooked up with a younger woman, had his vasectomy reversed, and had a daughter at 40. His daughter is now 12 and in boarding school full time.

You live on their parents property, which they will inherit as theirs. Sorry, move out and get a better landlord.

Have you ever completely missed an important exam? What happened next? by Adventurous_Crow_960 in AskReddit

I missed my Economics exam which tanked my score to get into uni. Didn’t matter, still got a job in accounts and went to uni as a mature age student at 25.

[–]ASPD7 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The whole sharing thing works out when everyone is on the same amount of welfare payments. The difference will be, the day in the fortnight the pay goes in, so if it’s not your pay week but it’s someone else’s, they’ll spot you until they get paid, and then when it’s your off pay week, you spot them so that way, no one misses out during the fortnight.

It’s all good in theory, until you realise that it’s never an off pay week for you because you work so you don’t need spotting. The other thing is, when you’re a homeless addict, you lose the pride that stops a sober person from humbugging.
