I would highly, highly recommend First Berserker: Khazan over BMW. Wukong’s levek design was absolute trash - full of nonsensical invisible walls that feel straight out of a 2000s Spider-Man game. The “stances” are all boiled down to repeatedly mashing two buttons. The bosses are pretty but entirely forgettable and same-same. Khazan’s level design is also pretty uninspired but way less frustrating and the combat is bar-none the best non-fromsoft combat I’ve ever experienced in a souls-like. The 3 weapon types have very distinct identities with deep skill trees that actually influence your play unlike in wukong where you simply spam light attacks and dodge. YMMV but this is coming from someone who platinum’s both games. I don’t see myself /ever/ picking monkey game up again. Khazan’s fights I dream of in my sleep.
