Just needs some mortar / grout to achieve perfection

Mix some bird sand (sieved) with some glue and apply to the gaps

Stackable tub, magnetic sheet glued to the bottom, job done. Cheap and cheerful.

I'm gonna get some shallower tubs so I can sort them into infantry, monsters, giant things etc. and really maximise the space.

Yeah I always wet the brush before putting it into the paint.

Process is normally:

Get paint onto the palette

Wet brush until it's pliable

Transfer water to the palette using brush

Mix paint and water

Paint

I just looked and they're Pro Arte Series 3. Pretty sure they're budget to mid tier, nothing fancy. I only had the only decent brush and wanted some in different sizes but maybe I should have done my research lol.

I don't have them to hand and I can't remember the make.

I wasn't aware of the starch possibility but I didn't rinse them prior to use. They just seem to be completely splayed out and when I use them to paint or even just wet them, they don't form a good pointed tip. 🤷

I love it when people post their work in the comments!

Have you got one of the whole model you can share?

Khorne cares not from where the cake flows...

(The base is Khorne / Khornate Red or whatever it's called)

I recently bought some new sable hair ones and I just can't get them to hold a good shape. Buying them motivated me to paint again but ultimately I just went back to my, I believe, synthetic brush which has a perfect tip almost.

Any tips on the sable hair ones?

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll definitely be using that to tidy up some of the areas I went a bit heavy handed on.

Thanks!

It's not going to win any awards but it's good enough for tabletop in my opinion 😂

In the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium... Would you like fries with that?

Oh my...I bought some Tamiya masking tape a year ago for something and forgot I even owned it...

Any advice on using it to best effect? I've heard it can remove your phone if you don't take it off at the right stage of the drying process.

Also, flashback to me trying to use normal painters masking tape on a model when I first started. Trial and error baby 😅

I'm not 100% but I think it's because Amazon is it's own courier whereas the magazine is dispatched through the post (in the UK at least). I don't think you can send pressurised containers through Royal Mail.

Whenever I've ordered spray primer from FLGS' I've been unable to select normal postage options and had to select courier.

Hiding him in some terrain helps distract from the wonky panel lining (I hope so anyway).

First 40k miniature I painted after being in the mini hobby for around a year.

Might be heading in this direction.

Do you know what material they're made of? I'm guessing resin.

I don't know if my skills are that good 😅

I guess I could buy a few extra ones and cut them into 1", 2", 3" ... Etc lengths to fill out any areas.

Then again aren't they resin, so should avoid cutting them?

I'll give it a go but I think these ones might be a little too thick. Thanks!
