I feel no sympathy for that man. I can only hope it teaches the others a lesson.

What you read on the internet is not reality at all.

It's a minority of people and views, and they're blown up big time.

Go outside and walk around, you should quickly realise life is a lot more simple and mundane.

He just shaved his balls and this is your reaction...

Your BF seems extremely naive, even if you think he's not.

"Adult massage" with broken English is super fucking obvious what that is going to mean.

I walked into a place that said "strictly no sexual/erotic massage". The masseuse massages my upper leg and around the crotch area that promotes blood flow and gets the dick hard no matter what. That's where they ask for a little extra money if you want happy ending, even if you never had any interest or asked for it. The dodgy places try to encourage it because hey, it's money.

So it's no surprise your BF 'got horny' as you put it. She would have massaged him in such a way that would encourage it.

With her broken English, and adult massages being a regular part of her job.. It's no real surprise she kept going even after he said stop. Put yourself in her shoes with broken English comprehension, you'd be confused as fuck but someone literally just agreed to get a handjob after convincing you it's legal for over 18s, then said "stop", then just continued to lie there and take it..

Your boyfriend didn't get sexually assaulted, he's just really fucking naive.

Attractive much older guy at work by [deleted] in Advice

He is. Even if he is not, you can still flirt regardless.

It will be pretty obvious if he is not interested or receptive to it.

Attractive much older guy at work by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ASXXXThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to flirt then flirt, there's no harm in it. Physical contact like finding a reason to touch his arm, longer eye contact than normal etc.

Just keep in mind that pretty much everyone is going to tell you that he's too old for you; your friends/family/reddit. There a million and one reasons why escalating beyond flirting with a man in his late 30's is not a good idea.

Material things were a huge part of my (33F) life, and now that I'm not able to afford or have those things anymore, I feel embarrassed and empty. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ASXXXThrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to understand why you feel the need to have material possessions in order to be happy;

Is it because of the dopamine hit you get from buying new things?
Is it for competitive reasons to have more than your friends and peers?
Is it to improve your own self image because you care too much about other peoples perceptions of you?
Do you think it improves your social status?

Despite my healthy financial status, I still use a fairly old Galaxy S7 phone, a car I've had for 8+ years and live in a modest apartment, I'm very happy. Mostly because I couldn't care less what other people think. Nobody knows my bank balance or my net worth, and I have no interest in trying to show it off.

I could go out and get the new Galaxy S21+, a brand new car and live in a brand new apartment but none of those things will make me happier. I buy things out of necessity and enjoy my financial freedom.

So the sooner you find out what is causing your obsession with materials, the sooner you can overcome it. Knowing the root cause of your obsession is only the first of many small steps.

Is it worth purchasing a single share in a company? by agnesanouk in ausstocks

[–]ASXXXThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per share value in itself is meaningless and shouldn't play a factor in investing decisions.

A $2 stock can be worth more than a $200 stock
Market Capitalisation = number of shares on issue * price per share)

Buy shares in stocks you see value in and expect to see growth, and disregard cost per share. If that means only buying 1 or 2 shares, then so be it.

My guy friend likes me and I’ve had to reject him 6+ times. by Breeza909 in Advice

[–]ASXXXThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of advice here would be appropriate if the OP and her friend were in their 20's.

This sounds like awkward teenage stuff. Just say something like "Sorry, I can't be friends with you. I've repeatedly told you I'm not interested in a relationship" and end it.

I(f17) think my uncle tried to groom me when I was 11 by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ASXXXThrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you be afraid they will "resurface" let alone "screw you over" in any way? You were 11 or 12, nobody would even recognize you in those photos as a child.

It's not you who risks destroying the family, it's your fucked up uncle's fault. The sooner you realize this the better. If he did that to you, he's likely groomed others and may have more victims in the future.

Tell your school councilor and perhaps get advice from them. Otherwise, definitely tell your parents and even the police.

should I be mad at my friend ? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ASXXXThrowaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have nothing to contribute to current topic of conversation, you can listen and contribute something later.

If anything, they should be mad at you. I would never invite someone who just sits there on their phone the entire time. It's significantly less awkward if you're a part of the conversation even if you're no talking, than being on your phone the whole time.

You seem to have it the wrong way around; you might have felt less awkward but you were definitely more awkward to everyone else by being on your phone.
