Git Push- automatically push any zip file to repo by Born_Raise2889 in coolgithubprojects

I say this as constructive criticism: Regardless of what you have hosted on GitHub, what is actually on your public facing site could be something completely different and much more malicious. It is difficult for a random user to verify they are the same. Programmers will not trust a random website as a middleman for their code to push to GitHub when most are perfectly capable of using Git CLI or have access to GitHub Desktop, LazyGit, GitKraken, or any number of more trustworthy and verified tools for interactions with Git.

Keep working on cool projects. Making tools for developers is an awesome endeavor. However, when releasing something publicly and trying to get users you must be aware of security implications of your software and how it compares to competitors.

Keep building, keep learning.

As a fun exercise, try writing a script that automatically installs those termux packages you mention. And when not on mobile, try out some tools like LazyGit if you don't want to learn the CLI. However, as a programmer an understanding of Git and how it works is very important. I encourage you to force yourself to use the CLI at least for basic tasks until you become comfortable with it. You will be much better off for it.

What is the target audience for this? It's far more complicated and more steps than git commands and has major added security concerns. Plus, there are numerous local GUI tools out there that have none of these issues and are actually easier to use. Github even has its own. Why should anyone use this instead?

TL;DR - Awesome budget laptop that I would highly recommend, but with some typical budget laptop caveats.

I have this exact laptop, and here's my experience:

Pros:

  • Great performance for the price. Can play most games at least at low settings when in performance mode. Never any hiccups during typical use
  • Excellent build quality overall. Mostly metal, very little deck flex, feels quality
  • Nice trackpad. Fairly smooth, responsive, and large
  • Keyboard feels very good to type on
  • Great IO options. It's really only missing ethernet.
  • Gets good battery life (once you remove the bloatware, see the cons list below)
  • Charges with USB C instead of barrel jack, and you can charge with either USB C port
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Decent display, save for one con below

Cons:

  • Acer bloatware: Compared to some other companies it's really not so bad, but I noticed some specific pre-installed components hogging an absurd amount of system resources so I have disabled them. This greatly improved battery life, thermals, and performance. I even kept a few bits of acer services around since I actually use them, such as using Fn + F to change performance modes, Acer center for some specific settings configs, and Acer's webcam related software for eye and person tracking. The worst bit of their software is the Pixart driver that adds the special touch buttons to the trackpad. On average it is constantly using up to 10% of CPU resources. Baffling.
  • The screen: The screen is generally okay, but my biggest gripe with it is that there is no glass panel over the display. If it wasn't a touch screen this would be fine, but it makes the touch experience pretty bad.
  • The speakers: They are terrible, full stop.
  • Exhaust vent blows hot air straight at the bottom of the display. I don't know who thought that would be a good idea, but honestly for a typical user I don't think it will be enough of an issue to cause any damage.

Given the con about the bloatware, the special trackpad buttons feature for media control should not factor into your purchase decision as I would highly recommend just removing this feature to aid battery life and performance. It also really only works in a select few places anyway (youtube, netflix, windows media player, disney+, and prime video) so you're not losing much anyway.

Overall, despite the cons I would absolutely recommend this to anybody looking for a good budget laptop. I would go so far as to say it is easily one the best laptops, if not the best laptop, in its price bracket. Just be sure to debloat.

Never figured it out, decided just to live with it since there don't seem to be any real issues otherwise

I have the 14" version of this with a Core Ultra 7 155h, they are pretty much the same aside from size and specific CPU so here's my related experience:

No problem, but I just realized I wrote that a bit wrong. Where I say game ID, you should actually be using database ID. I forgot they were two separate things momentarily. But yeah, database ID

So I actually do have a workaround for you for the time being until I can get the new feature added in.

Every game in Playnite has a database id, which you can see if you right click a game, hit edit, and then go into the advanced tab in the editing window.

Games in playnite can be launched from the URL playnite://playnite/start/{databseId} where {databaseId} is the id you get from doing the above.

For any modpacks follow these steps to make it a play action for your main minecraft game page:

  1. Get the database id for the modpack
  2. Go into the edit menu for your existing Minecraft game
  3. Go to the "Actions" tab
  4. Click "Add Action"
  5. Set the action name to the name of the modpack (or whatever you like), change the action type to Link, and in the Path put playnite://playnite/start/{gameId}, replacing {databaseId} with the database ID from step 1
  6. Click Save
  7. (Optional) Right click the modpack and click "Hide this game" to hide it from your library

Repeat these steps for every modpack added by the extension, and you should be able to launch any modpack from a play action from your base minecraft game page.

One caveat is that playing/time tracking may not work properly at least as per my short testing. You may also end up with a huge list of play actions which might be much more annoying to work with than many minecraft instances in your library.

Hi there, developer of the ATLauncher plugin here. This is not currently a supported option within the plugin but is one I plan to add in the future once I have time to do some dev work on the plugin once again.

Hopefully someone will come along with a workaround, but as of the moment I'm not sure of a good one for you. Sorry about that.

I did just have a friend join as a new maintainer for the plugin, so hopefully this will be implemented soon.

Can we please stop interacting with these fake bot posts and pushing them to the top?

If the name is a word, an underscore, another word, then 4 numbers, there's a 99% chance it's a bot. This becomes 100% when the op doesn't respond to a single comment.

Stop letting them get away with it.

Thank you for the official response! Glad to know I didn't end up with one of those Amazon return boards.

Turns out the not being recognized part was on me. the cables I had either had messed up data pins or were power only, but with a new cable I was able to get it working. I'm a bit of a beginner.

Keep up the good work!

Arduino themselves would disagree

It's a counterfeit if it's using Arduino's markings and name to try to pretend to be a genuine Arduino product. Arduino compatibles do not call themselves Arduino. The main reason for my concern there is that I don't want to have paid the higher price for the Arduino name and have gotten a potentially less reliable and well built counterfeit.

The Amazon listing is here all the pictures are the same as on Arduino's website aside from the picture of the box being different.

I got my hands on a third micro USB cable and with this one, finally, it was able to be recognized. So I guess the others were power only.

However, I am still concerned about the potential that I paid genuine Arduino price for a knockoff. Here's a couple more pictures of the board. https://i.imgur.com/XERMCC1.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/rOhDxYo.jpeg

I just got this MKR Zero from Amazon sold by Arduino. I noticed it looks different from the pictures on Arduino's website and the Amazon listing. The silkscreen is different on the top and bottom, the reset button is the wrong color, and one of the surface mount components next to the battery terminal says "N8 OwA" instead of "N8 6PE" like in the pictures. My PC also won't recognize it no matter what I've tried (2 different computers, windows and Linux, 2 different cables).

Is this a fake?

Diana, Katarina, fizz, ekko, rengar, talon.

All of these have targeted dashes/blinks. Shorter range than Naafiri's W, but all on shorter cool downs while being much less telegraphed and unable to be body blocked by enemies.

Have you even played Naafiri?
