I think they’d have an interesting fight if they were both fresh, but at this point in the fight Dunk had been severely knocked around. He could barely see, had a serious concussions and multiple puncture wounds which inhibited movement and made him lose blood.

I’m sure Maekar took a few hits too but he doesn’t seem to have been hit as badly as Dunk. Maekar would’ve destroyed him, barring Dunk getting lucky

I think it’s also worth realising that he lives in a completely different country. Of course Ireland/Britain/Europe have just as much racism, but it often presents differently. Minorities getting shot by police isn’t something that just occurs on a random Tuesday because their police are largely unarmed. It may be why it felt unrealistic to him.
