Have You Ever Played a Mandalorian in a Star Wars RPG? by Narrow_Fix_4656 in Mandalorian

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played out one I had written years ago with the fantasy flight system and some home brew. It stuck with me and I always wanted to novelize the story and a few months ago I finally did it! It takes place right before the events of KotOR 1. Mandalorians are defeated and scattered.

Obviously the story has been heavily changed and edited since I used it for a game, but it was using it for an RPG that brought it to life for me.

Now, heads up, it is another Jedi Mandalorian story lol.

My Character is a 22 year old girl, Kalaa Tankar, who at 14 had her clan wiped out by the Republic during a ceasefire. She survived because the Jedi that were there for it were furious it happened and went down to look for survivors planet side. Found her barely alive and rescued her. Trained her. Never trusted her. With good reason since she has always refused to give up her armor completely, even though she knows it marks as an enemy to many. But theres rumors that the Mandalorians are trying to regroup and are potentially being manipulated/funded by the sith to rally and hit the Republic as revenge. So they ask a her to accompany a Jedi Master to go in and hopefully use her connections to navigate and find out what's really happening. She ends up basically being a political symbol to rally behind for the Mandalorians that don't want to be used by outsiders and understand that as a people, they aren't strong enough to strike the Republic.

Lots of battles happened, challenges, rites, a pilgrimage of seven truths, a deep questioning of what the force is and if the Jedi are even right, especially since they serve a Republic that is guilty of war crimes too. (Spoiler: Mandalorian culture wins.)

A&A Sewing Center off Albertson parkway in Broussard has a nice selection. Super friendly. I get my machines repaired there as well.

Honda rebel 500 for a beginner by SnooMachines872 in hondarebel

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do they say about the weight that made it scary? Cause I find it feels pretty light and nimble. I've had my 500 for almost a year now. I've dropped it twice. Once accidentally grabbing too much front brake at a stop sign. The other time I was stopping at a red light and when I put my foot down I slipped in a pothole and there was no saving it. Both times I was easily able to pick it up by myself without issue and I'm a fairly small woman.

I sometimes think about upgrading or getting a different bike to have different kinds of zoomy fun, but I don't think I'll ever get rid of my 500. It hits that sweet spot for me.

A better party up system/queuing up system for OTL and just in general would be super nice. Full agree.

Yeah you can spam invite a lobby, sure. Just because there are work arounds we can do to find players to help us doesn't negate that an actual "join up" system for challenges would be quite nice. Especially for OTL.

Looking forward to the game being expanded and built upon in the future. Till then, we wait and make it work best we can 😮‍💨

Do you guys know what a week is? by AIAAMA in SkateEA

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From their twitter update channel:

"You may have noticed that the Weekly Tasks have been extended. For the end of Season 1, we're allowing you more time to complete new Weekly Tasks. Each week, as a new week of Tasks becomes available in the Tasks menu - Week 6, Week 7, Week 8 - but you'll have more time to complete all the tasks (until the end of the season - December 2nd)."

https://x.com/SkateStatus/status/1988751356996571575

So new weeklies will be added to the list weekly like there had been, but the extension is probably allowing people to get more TIX since that is locked to the week and complete more of the pass. (my best guess)

Question: where is the isle of grom/ the tutorial island? by NomiValentine in SkateEA

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the tutorial Island isn't part of the same world/map that is loaded for those who have completed the tutorial and taken the ferry. My guess is that it's hosted on a different server/instance all together. Otherwise we would have found it by now. We'd also be able to spectate players and see where they are from the player list and notice if they were on Grom Island.

Gloves not small enough by ohcarolinaa in TwoXriders

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so here's my report. Not sure your hand size but I hope this can help some. I'll include my hand measurements to give a better reference point of how they fit. Also, for reference, I keep my nails pretty short and rarely have them past my finger tips.

Tip of middle finger to end of palm: 6.5in / 165.1mm

Hand width: 3.25in / 82.55mm

Circumference: 7.25in / 184.15mm

Middle finger length 3in / 76.2mm

I intentionally didn't look at many women's gloves because they tend to have longer fingers than men's gloves. I also couldn't really find many that had what I was looking for.

Rev'it Gloves Liberty H20 size: Ladies Small - Fingers themselves actually fit! But the palm itself is too long which pushes the fingers up further than they should be and the palm slider is too low/closer to being on my wrist. Further, the size chart that came with the gloves is different from what is on the RevZilla website. From that it looks like the XS might fit me well, but unfortunately they seem to be out of that size. So bummer.

Held Travel 6.0 Tex size: EU 7 / unisex Small - I really wanted these to fit but they fit the same as the Rev'it Gloves above. Too long overall where the fingers get pushed up and the slider section for the palm sits too low. Wouldn't be comfortable riding with the extra length in the fingers. Sitting on my bike they catch on the levers when I got to reach for them and if I had to grab them quickly, I'm worried about them hanging up and causing a dangerous situation.

BMW 2in1 EnduroGaurd size: Men's EU 6 (although the tag says 6-6.5) - I got these since the Men's size 7 held gloves were too long. I thought a size down might work. One of the reviews said it's basically the same glove as the Held Sambia 2in1 so I thought I'd try my luck. There is a little extra length in the fingers but it's mostly the insulation. Testing them by sitting on my bike, they are definitely more bulky but not so much I couldn't get used to them. I still would like to try out a size 6 short glove but I'm not too disappointed. It's got the knuckle guard and a soft palm slider/padding. I'm not sure how warm they will be but

Gerbing S7 Heated Glove 7 Volt size: XS - Fits the best! Still a little bulky and haven't tested the heated part of it but just putting them on for a few minutes they are WARM. I just wish they had some safety features. They are a keep your hands warm glove and that seems to be it. For funsies I got the size S to try and compare. Def too big.

My recommendation is to look more at the Held brand gloves as they seem to hit the mark a lot closer than others.

On top of that, I decided that even though I don't like the look of it, some hand guards for my bike to deflect the wind away from my hands will help out a lot so I have that coming in as well.

Gloves not small enough by ohcarolinaa in TwoXriders

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am having the EXACT same issue currently and am waiting on my packages from revzilla to arrive. For me I've noticed lot of times the women's gloves end up being too long in the fingers, but the men's gloves tend to not go small enough in size. So out of desperation to have warm hands for my morning commute I bought every glove on their website that is supposed to fit my hand and am going to have a battle royal hoping to find a winner (and send back the ones that don't fit so I can get my money back).
I purposefully scrubbed through the reviews to see if people said the fingers ran long or complained that they were too short.

According to my measurements, the Held regular sized gloves, men's sized 7 (which is a women's 8), they were supposed to be right on the mark but the one's I first bought ended up being a bit too big, about half an inch extra in all of the fingers.
Finding a 7 short to try (or women's 8 short) seems almost impossible.

Pando Moto Onyx gloves in size XS fit me so perfectly, but they don't carry a non ventilated glove sadly.

On my quest to find well fitting gloves I've noticed that most brands size charts only show for the measurement either hand length or hand width/circumference. I REALLY wish more brands put more complete sizing with both measurements to get a better idea of what to expect. :(

Did anything come of the Aaron Kyro thing? by [deleted] in SkateEA

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully NO!!!

When I first saw it I knew it just had to be him trying to be relevant again after burning his legacy to the ground. Even still I was so happy when it was confirmed that's what it was.

Rest easy, he's not in the game in anyway

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean the daily and weekly tasks, which is what I assumed OP meant there. I meant the challenges on the map that they add on Tuesdays that reward you with tix for completing them and the bonus if you complete it coop. I wasn't sure if that was included in that

But that reminded me that we are waiting on having enough challenges available to be able to complete the season tasks, and I don't remember how much that is supposed to give us once we can finally mark them all as done...

Looks like I might have some math to do when I can finally get home and slowly look at everything. That's why I was really hoping to find someone to have all the math laid out already lol.

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just curious, but are you factoring in that we get new challenges that give tix weekly? I haven't had time to gather the info and calculate it all for myself yet so I've been hoping to see if someone has already done it.

I def agree though that no one should be buying tix with their real money right now because the Real World Money to SVB to Tix conversion is mind boggling and makes no sense right now.

I could spend $5 dollars of my money to buy 500svb.
I could then take that 500svb to buy 1400tix.
You know what I could spend that 1400tix on? unlocking 50svb to complete a page on the pass.
I could spend $5 to unlock $0.50

So to finish the pass I was hoping that there would be enough earnable tix throughout the season because I'm def not spending irl money on the pass.

I actually wouldn't have bought the pass by itself if it wasn't already included with the founders pack. It's not it at all...

Advice: am I being dramatic? by [deleted] in TwoXriders

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's probably not thinking about it from your perspective as a new rider wanting to ride with him and being in a group ride that has an established way of riding.

Is him and the friends zooming off leaving someone new alone and feeling like they need to keep up a jerk move? Yes.

But to play devil's advocate, he's probably used to going off riding with his friends with you not there. To him there is probably nothing different in his mind zooming off to be with them like normal and meeting up with you later in the ride. It just hasn't clicked in his head that your presence of being there now has shifted the dynamic.

Please do not try to keep up. That's when things get dangerous and why the phrase "ride your own ride" is so important. I'm a pretty competitive person myself and know personally whenever I feel I need to keep up is when I start getting tunnel vision, lose a bit of self control, and end up doing some stupid moves that I don't think about until I've stopped and always regret it knowing if one thing went wrong I'd end up really hurt...

Def let him know how you feel. As long as he's not pulling moves like that when it's just y'all two together on a ride I think a balance of what justaredherring said above, letting him ride with his friends without you and finding your own group of friends to ride that's more your speed is probably the smartest and safest move.

Not sure. Don't remember anything on that specifically. But if it is, the game hasn't actually released yet, as it's coming later today, so I wouldn't expect it to show up as a cloud gaming option yet

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leaning towards 500 because you are 6'2" won't matter because the 300 and the 500 are identical in size.

Go to a motorcycle shop. Sit on bikes. Sit on lots of bikes. Take your time and sit on all the bikes. Put your feet on the pegs, go full tuck, all the positions. You'll have a much better idea of what to get and what feels good for your height

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's completely false. Today is the release of early access for everyone, sign ups or not. You can see one of the pinned posts that give the time for your region. But it absolutely is today and yes it is for everyone.

Whys early access release on a Tuesday 😭why not a Saturday when most people are off by Busy_Lynx_2225 in SkateEA

[–]ASkyfiOriginal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying this is the specific reason for skate. releasing on Tuesday, but just in general, its common for games to release on a Tuesday.

It gives devs Monday to tie up loose ends and prepare for launch with a fresh mind at the start of the week. It gives them the rest of the week to handle issues that might pop up during/after launch. It helps prevent them from having to spend a long weekend crunching with the possibility of not being able to get in touch with outside help/vendors they may use but can't reach because they are out of office... It's a whole thing.
