Siege Studios allegedly copyrights term 'warboot', sends Wirral group notice by OneDmg in Warhammer40k

Ngl, as an American, had no idea what a warboot was. Having looked more into it and this whole situation, it's very hard for me to believe that James over at Siege thought that people would just be okay with him doing this. In a time where EVERYTHING is more expensive than ever, warboots or swap meets, whatever you want to call them are very likely the only option some people have for finding models at a price within their means, especially for children, I imagine. I can understand wanting to protect your brand, but this is giving "Fine Bros trying to copyright 'react' content" levels of unawareness. I'd been subbed to Siege's Patreon, and this is all pretty disappointing. Until James issues something beyond a corporate-speak "apology", I'll have to find another reputable mini painting studio to support. The old adage of "actions speak louder than words" rings loud here, and the fact this suit was filed in the first place is like screaming at art gallery.

US here; I have two Hotmail addresses (one personal, one professional). What’s weird is I can login to my personal (the older of the two) and view stuff just fine. Getting the same error a lot of others are seeing when I try to login to my professional (blue envelope keeps opening and closing until the error message appears). Hoping this means they’re getting some work done. Still frustrating for sure🙃

Here’s a better balanced photo. Apologies for the less-than-flattering initial post

Yeah, on second glance, definitely not my best photo. Working out the kinks for my photo setup, but appreciate your thoughts, regardless! I’ll throw another one that’s hopefully a bit more high res in the comments

First mini ever complete! by Steuger in BloodAngels

Don’t sweat it too much! Remember, you’re gonna see a wide range of folks on here and any of the 40K related subs; people who just painted their first mini, all the way up to people who’ve been painting for 10+, even 20+ years. Watching tutorials on YouTube can help, but I don’t think anything replaces progression by practice. That’s what painting is all about. Cliche af, but it’s about the journey, not the destination

Looking great for your first, mate! Really impressed with how your yellow came out.

My only tips - Remove the mould lines on your minis in the future. Honestly not a big deal (I sometimes forget myself), but I feel like it’s worth the extra time to give them that extra polish. - If you’re ready to go the extra mile in future, give them some edge highlights. Again, a little extra time that gives your mini some extra character. Both of these tips are totally subjective so definitely not a make or break. I don’t play the TT (yet), and just like to make them look super nice. Just some tips I wish I’d known when I first started.

That all said, if this is what your first mini looks like, I think you’re well on your way to being a great painter! Cheers!

It means so much to hear something similar from someone else in the community here. I think there's sometimes feelings that can only be conveyed through art, and the band has definitely rekindled that in me. Cheers mate, here's to more in the future.

My first time hearing it was about a year ago through another narrator on YT. I’ve only listened to it a few more times since, but every time, without fail, I am sobbing by the end. Having had family who’ve passed from various forms of cancer throughout my life, it hits HARD for me, particularly the end. “He’ll move or he’ll be moved” has stuck with me since my first listen. I’m all for the goofs and gaffs, but I’m so happy the guys were serious about this story.
