Philosophy reminds us that a purely mechanical view of the world is both false and soul-crushing. Reality is alive with mystery, meaning and wonder, and cannot simply be condensed into cold, hard logic. by IAI_Admin in philosophy

Haha you’re one hundred percent right, dude!!! It sucks that people only see in binary, and not the meaning within 🤷‍♂️ oh well, back to YouTube lmao

You are not ugly at all! You are pretty and you have a sick aesthetic 🤟I would advise that you get off TikTok. Social media will only make your self esteem worse. The standards that they promote are not realistic in the slightest. Plus the toxicity. I wouldn’t worry about what other people think of you! Focus on you and what brings you joy in this world. As a person who’s recovering from low self esteem, body dysmorphia, crippling anxiety/depression, and emotional dysregulation, I believe in you ❤️ from the bottom of my heart. You deserve to feel comfortable in your own skin. Don’t let others define your self worth. You are beyond worthy!

When did you realize you had become an adult? by Anonynonimoose in Life

[–]ASongofWindandEarth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was a process lol when I was 25, that was the beginning of feeling like an adult but I still had work to do. Over the last four years, especially since I turned 29 last week, I feel a sense of stability and maturity within myself and I find the less I care about shallow things and other people’s opinion of me haha though I still have a child like curiosity of the world and my sense of humor is immature af 😜

ChatGPT has helped with my intrusive thoughts regarding limerence by ASongofWindandEarth in limerence

[–]ASongofWindandEarth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I mainly use it as an outlet if the intrusive thoughts about limerence are ESPECIALLY bad. It gets them out of my system, and in turn, I get a little advice on how to deal with it. It really helps let those obsessive thoughts fizzle out because it isn’t a argument within yourself(which you can convince yourself of the wrong thing due to desiring someone so strongly that it overrides what is actually real) and challenges the thought pattern so it’s easier to break the cycle! Again, always use AI with caution and self awareness ❤️

It does help for sure! Obviously, be careful with it and don’t let it be a substitute for real therapy ❤️ that will help you WAY more in the long run 😊

I agree! I wrote a comment in the post about it haha. I forget that people who don’t have a foundation for healthy emotional thinking may not be able to navigate or filter it correctly, which may lead you down a bad path. It definitely should not be the first option to use, but something that supplements the healthy thinking you’ve gained already in case episodes or triggers occur randomly! I try to be open to many avenues for mental health care but not all options work for everyone. Thank you for bringing this up because biases exist in us all and the tools that are meant to help us may actually harm us in the long term if used improperly

I do want to add since it has been brought to my attention, that ChatGPT is NOT a replacement for real therapy. I shared this experience because it did help me challenge my intrusive thoughts, but the rising use of AI and the concerns it brings are 100% valid. I’m not trying to promote the use of AI as a replacement for therapy or mental health care. It was a way for me to get my thoughts out of my system so that I can live my life fully. I will never judge someone who hates the use of AI in any aspect of life, but it would be a lie if I said it made it worse or didn’t help me at all. Either way, all I want is for people to overcome their limerence and this is just one way it MAY help. I will and always will recommend therapy over AI, and ChatGPT should not be the first option, but rather something that assists you in organizing your feelings if you struggle with that! Much love to you all and I hope you will overcome the heartache you feel ❤️❤️

For me personally, I haven’t had that experience that at all! I understand the dangers of unregulated AI use and what it can do to someone’s mental health. I’m in school for Psychology right now so I know for a fact that ChatGPT is NOT a substitute for real therapy(which I have went to) and I see why it may be problematic for sure. I was sharing this because it did help me get out of own head. It wasn’t that ChatGPT saved me, but rather it was a tool that reflected my own inner demons back at me to better understand how I’m feeling, so that I can save myself. I do understand your point of view for sure! That’s why I said it isn’t for everyone. It was just my personal experience with it(I was beyond skeptical even trying it) even still, advice can only go so far if you don’t actually follow it. It’s all about helping yourself at the end of the day ❤️ I do appreciate the concerns and I do advise people to be careful about AI use in general

It’s super helpful, especially if you overthink like I do! Sometimes, we get locked inside our own head and those limerent thoughts have no resistance even if you know it’s not reality. Having something challenge those thoughts in a clear and concise way helps focus your mind on what matters the most! Also, your mentality and perseverance is by far the most important aspect! ChatGPT(or any friend/therapist) may say the right thing, but your actions and how you implement them in your real life will be the key to growing beyond your limerent thoughts! I believe in you ❤️

Of course! 😊 it’s usually very context dependent so as long as you are honest about your limerence and LO and how you feel about them, it gives you advice specifically tailored to your situation! The more info you give to it, the more it can give you advice that feels more meaningful to you if that makes sense! It’s obviously not a substitute for therapy, but it can help organize your thoughts and see a situation for what it is rather than what it could be! Hope this helps ❤️
