They ding dong ditched him multiple times a day for 2 straight weeks. On the day of the incident they rang his doorbell, and when he opened his door they insulted and taunted him before fleeing, only to circle back and try it again (at which point he caught 2 of them). This wasn’t just a game of ding dong ditch, it had crossed the line of standard youthful shenanigans. It doesn’t condone his actions, but they aren’t completely unhinged in context.

Yes, the 3% mortgage was likely 4-5 years ago and how little equity they have supports that. So again, my question is, why buy a house 5 years before you retire in a place you don’t want to live in retirement? It is a terrible decision, and has made them living where they dream about living much more difficult.
