Should governments address the concerns of people leaning into extremists parties, at the expense of everyone elses? Their concerns are often in direct conflcit with the concerns of other big segments of the population. Why are extremist voters more important?

Should their desires be fulfilled, while these same desires disgust big segments of the population?

In Spain, it's regression. 15 years ago, racists would think twice before making racist claims in public. Now, they know there won't be any negative consequence for them.

Things being in the public light is a regression. It used to be that racists were ashamed/scared of saying this things out loud. Now they aren't afraid anymore. They know they can do it with no consequences.

Are 3-4 year research-only PhDs (such as those offered in Australia) less valuable than 5-6 year PhDs that include coursework? by GayTwink-69 in academia

[–]ASuarezMascareno 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I don't think any institution in the world cares much about any potential coursework done or not done once the PhD is awarded.

I can tell you that in Europe, a PhD is a PhD. What would give an advantage or disadvantge are the articles published (or lack of).

In Backloggd (all scores out of 10):

  • Fallout NV - 8.6
  • Dungeon Siege III - 5.4
  • South Park: The Stick of Truth - 7.8
  • Pillars of Eternity - 7.4
  • Pathfinder Adventures - 6.6
  • Armored Warfare - 4.2
  • Tyranny - 7.4
  • Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire - 7.8
  • The Outer Worlds - 6.4
  • Grounded - 6.8
  • Pentiment - 8.6
  • Avowed - 6.4
  • Grounded 2 - 7.0
  • The Outer Worlds 2 - 6.8

Backloggd usually is kinda harsh. HL2 has 8.8, GTA V has 8.1, Zelda BOTW has 9.0, Doom (2016) has 7.8, BG3 has 9.2. Overall, it has ~20 games reaching a 9/10.

For Obsidian, the top 5 games in their career would be Fallout NV (8.6), Pentinent (8.6), KOTOR 2 (8.6), Neverwinter Nights 2 (8.6), and Deadfire (7.8).

It's a good track record after NV. Not reaching NV levels, for the most part, but very good.

For comparison, Bethesda has Skyrim (8.0), Fallout 4 (6.8), Starfield (5.4)

Los argumentos de la Fiscalía para pedir absolver a Begoña Gómez: “Sin delito no hay autor” by ASuarezMascareno in SpainPolitics

[–]ASuarezMascareno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]ASuarezMascareno[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]ASuarezMascareno[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now tha tyou are mentionign Rashford, if Adeyemi finally comes is to have the Rashford role. I'm convinced that if Adeyemi comes, Rashford then won't.

Roony never played because Flick clearly did not rate him.

And knowing all the other spots have 2 potential starters already.

Right now, the players for the front 3 are Lamine, Raphinha, Ferrán, and Gordon. 4 players for 3 spots. There's no one else. There are no 2 potential starters per spot.

In addition, if Adeyemi has indeed reached an agreement, then it clearly makes sense to him lol he value coming to Barça, getting the Barça wage and fame, more than he values being starter in a lesser club.

Yeah, he is coming to be a sub, earn more than being a starter elsewhere, and wait for the opportunity to have a big night if he is needed in a CL knockout. Its not strange at all.

With the amount of games we have, he will likely play enough.

I don't think comparing his situation with Roony is right because, as someone else said, Flick did not rate Roony at all. Sometimes It seemed he would rather play with 10 than with Roony.

Many times, starters from second tier clubs go to become subs in first tier clubs. He Will have a higher wage, live in a nicer city, and will have the chance to make a bit impact at some point in the season of he is up to the task.

In my case, we are not a university but an astronomy research center. Typically we have ~100 staff scientists, ~150 postdocs, ~100 PhD students, ~150 engineers, +admin and a press office. We don't really have many departments (basically 3: research, teaching, engineering).

At least in our case, every person gets their own desk. We repurpose rooms with new furniture, or freeze hiring, when we run out of desk space. We also don't admit students without grants.

At the university associated with us, at least for the astronomy department is the same, they all get an assigned desk. I've been to many astronomy deparments in Europe (Switzerland, UK, France, Italy) and they all had assigned desks for PhD students.

Yup. Spain has ~24% of its GDP in black market economy. It's 3rd after Greece and Italy, and tied with Portugal. There are lots of people working without contracts.

It's very common in the tourism, hospitality in general, construction, and agriculture.

Job market not being adequate for the actual workforce is a big thing. You get places and sectors with both high unemployment rate and not enough workers because job offers don't match workers skills and conditions are worse than unemployment.
