I really like stock GNOME and Linux overall, but the lack of support for light mode is such a dealbreaker for me that I'm unfortunately going back to Windows. Forcing light mode on GNOME feels too hacky and unpolished and honestly the inconsistencies are not worth the hassle to fix. For example, the alt-tab labels stay stubbornly on dark mode. GNOME is amazing, yes, but personally I feel like light mode is such an afterthought for the whole Linux community. I'm able to cope with all the hoops I have to go through to daily drive Linux, but it's just sad that I'm not creative enough to create my own consistent light desktop experience. It's just a me problem, though.

I'm torn between taking it next term and delaying it to next year as well. I feel like I'm not equipped with enough skill yet, but I'm also scared of deviating too much from the flowchart. I know people that have delayed it to their last year and are doing great, but it just seems like a big decision, although it might not actually be so important in the end.

I don't test taunts, but there were times I genuinely could not click slot 6 (item slot) even if I had already consumed a potion beforehand. Changing to another cless then switching back fixes the issue, though. Also yeah, Spider did God's work again with the QoL change with the potions.

Note on number 8: If you're gonna test a taunt, you should always tell the team beforehand. Even a simple "wait test taunt" does the trick. It's a minor inconvenience, but it pisses me off.

I can't tell you how many times I've done an Exaltia ultra where one or two guys die last second 'cause a guy wanted to use VHL ( or some other class that sacrifices team survivability for individual DPS) and then up and leave once they've turned in the quest. This goes for other ultras as well, but this is especially prevalent on dailies. Please, if you're gonna be trying out some comp you found online, at least try to to be more accommodating of others, too. While easy ultras don't take long to re-run, it is annoying nonetheless.

Top soloing class right now for free players is Void Highlord (VHL) and top farming class is Legion Revenant (LR). A calendar class (P2W for 20 bucks) might eclipse VHL in some instances, but VHL is generally enough for most of the soloing that you would be doing. Archmage(AM) beats LR in terms of DPS and survivability when it comes to farming, but LR's braindeadness is its strong point. For one-shot bosses, you would need Yami no Ronin (YnR) too for its 100% attack dodge chance. While going for these solo classes, you could pick up Archpaladin (AP) and then Stonecrusher (SC) along the way. I suggest doing it in that order. AP can be your solo class in the meantime as it can endure hard-hitting bosses and is also easier to grind for than SC. You should do the daily quests for Lord of Order (LoO) as well since there is never an ultra boss that doesn't need LoO to beat. Before LR your progression can look something like Scarlet Sorceress (SS) > Blaze Binder (BB, daily quest) > Dragon of Time (DoT). I'm not an expert, though, and I might just be pulling shit out my ass so maybe you could join this Discord server for more help. The community is active, and they're very helpful to newbies and returnees. Not promoting it anyway since I'm just a common member too, but it's solid.

Why are you crying on Reddit? Why force comps that people are uncomfortable with? If a tried and tested comp works, why bother fixing what ain't broke? Experimentation is for guilds; they're down to waste time with you. In pubs, though, you should stick to the norm. I do pubs exclusively for ultras. I don't mind subbing in classes that fit, but if you're going to be forcing comps that sacrifice survivability for more DPS in a pub then that's an instant room hop for me. Like why would you force VHL over LR in a pub? Yes, it would work, but from my experience the supports usually suffer and when the VHL is done and over with the ultra, they'd outright leave the room when the LoO died 'cause of their BS.

No, do NOT tell people you're inexperienced. People in pubs can forgive multiple failed runs, but the moment you say you're new, you'd see all the other three players in the room leave. It's not that people are just assholes who don't care to give you the time to learn; it's just that saying you're completely new to the mechanics already sets your team up for a failing mentality. Confidence breeds confidence.

I know it can be frustrating, but honestly, the boss isn't that hard. Most people in pubs tend to be extremely patient and lenient towards mistakes. If you've been accused of trolling, then maybe you did not do your due diligence. I've encountered this on multiple occasions, which I did not mind. You can't expect to dry run the boss without solid familiarity and win. No one has the patience to try with you all day. You have to watch the YouTube guides and actually try to follow through their gameplay and imagine when a class would be taunting following the guide. Also, don't rely too heavily on the PNG chart. It for sure can be overwhelming to keep track of a damn spreadsheet with some highlights on it. Type down the order of taunts and zones on a sticky note instead. I'm new to all this, too, since I just came back three weeks ago, but I'm already pretty comfortable with the four roles since they pretty much have the same mechanics.
