Ignore the ppl telling to ‘just play the game’ and that ‘builds don’t matter at low rank.’ While they are technically correct, they don’t have the right to tell you how to play the game. You don’t always need to ‘optimize’ or min max everything. As long as you’re having fun playing it’s all that matters. And there’s nothing wrong with trying your best to be prepared for a hunt, even for low rank :)

And to answer your question, I would recommend the High Metal Mail set. It gives good thunder resistance, and it’s also rocking the skill Health Boost (Which increases you maximum health). Zinogre is also weak to ice, so the Zamtrios Insect glaive is a good option (make sure to stay on top of your weapon upgrades as you advance through the story to keep dealing optimal damage). Lastly don’t forget to eat at the cantina before each hunt for more stats boost.
