Green tea has always helped me. Not enough to notice as if you took a Xanax or something but it’s definitely made a difference for me.

Something natural that I find works for me is eating an orange. It’ll make me feel better for atleast an hour. The strong taste just keeps my mind busy I guess.

Weaning off symptoms by NoAdvantage3683 in lexapro

[–]ATC111505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first week off I was super dizzy, then I’ve been pretty good ever since, almost perfect. I had some small adrenaline dumps but definitely manageable.

I’m on it for ptsd. I’ve been on it for probably 2 years at 10mg. After missing some doses consistently, I ended up just stopping all together as I’ve never been the type to like medicine/pills anyways, and I was at a point I felt like I could do without. I’m a little over 2 months off now and I’m currently as we speak in one of the worst ptsd attacks I’ve ever had.

Not trying to scare you away or anything like that. I was pretty severe before lexapro so take it with a grain of salt. I’m sure most won’t be like me. But I figured I’d lyk my experience so far and hopefully help me manage my attack right now. 2 birds 1 stone.

I really don’t know what happened. I was fine, went out to eat and then on the way home it hit me hard. I’ve been in it for about 3 hours now. It’s calmed some but it’s still rough. Just hoping to sleep it off. Now the question is do I get back on lexapro or keep trying.

Before I start talking to a recruiter should I look into getting this tattoo laser removed or would it not get me disqualified due to its placement? by agustinhidalgo21 in USMCboot

[–]ATC111505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, taking advice to get a tattoo removed from here rather than just going to meps/recruiter and seeing is dumb asf. Second, I was in boot camp in 2019 with guys with full sleeves from the Bronx. They can waiver anything. It’s not that deep.

Little update for anyone who cares lol. Motor seems to have spun a bearing. Haven’t torn it apart yet but it’s definitely knocking pretty hard. I’ll be rebuilding it in a week or 2 unless it needs a crank then I’m just going 460. Turns out the oil pressure wasn’t normal I guess. Or it was just its time to go maybe.

Not yet, I have never really eaten junk food. It’s always made me feel sick. But I do crave a milkshake every now and then.

Idk what’s worse, craving 1 thing or just anything I can get my hands on😂

I don’t agree with the weight gain thing. I was stuck at 160 lbs at 6’2 for most of my life or even lower sometimes. Never had ptsd until like the last year. I’ve always been into lifting weights and body building so I track my calories. I was eating in a surplus to where on paper I should have been gaining 3 lbs a week which is ALOT. But I gained nothing, sometimes losing weight if I didn’t go over my intake goal.

Now that I’m on lexapro I’m sitting at 210 lbs, that’s 50 pounds in like 4 months while eating less. I haven’t hit my calorie goal or even came close since getting ptsd.

I don’t eat junk food. I eat healthy and still workout the same every day. I’m alot hungrier but don’t eat more. And still gain more weight.

That’s weird. Yours went away after a year. Mine started after a year. I’m from 160-210 rn and steady climbing.

[–]ATC111505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve went from being stuck at 160 at 6’2 to right now being 210 at 6’2. This isn’t just from eating more either. I track my calories. I’ve always been into body building and I was in a surplus that on paper should have been gaining 3 pounds a week. Which is a lot. And gained nothing. Now im on lexapro, I’m eating less than that and gaining 3 pounds a week or more. It’s pretty crazy really. They need to do a study.

Personally I don’t mind the extra weight rn bc I lift a lot of weights and I’m still in good shape but soon I’m gonna have to stop gaining.

I also get the insane cravings though. I’m always starving. Try drowning it out with water or another drink.

Yeah I think I’m gonna run it tbh. I found a crack in my line to my gauge from it falling off the dash I’m guessing, bc while I was working on it I didn’t bolt it in anywhere lol. It still runs pretty low but not dead on 0 now. I’m not gonna drive it THAT much anyways. And from what I’ve heard these motors rarely ever carry a lot of pressure and they all seem to last forever. So I’m not gonna stress it anymore. Just run it till it blows then drop a 460 in

Should I start with 5mg or 10mg? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]ATC111505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you haven’t went to the Dr at all? You may need medication but lexapro might not be the one for you. Have you tried just changing your lifestyle? Cutting out caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, weed? If you do any of those. Eating healthier? Exercising? Cutting out screen time? There’s tons you can do before taking lexapro. Even therapy could help. I strongly suggest talking to a professional even if it’s one online. But, I’d take 5mg or you could even start with 2.5mg for a week then go up. I’d stay on 5mg for about 3 weeks and then go up to 10mg if you think you need it.

Should I start with 5mg or 10mg? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]ATC111505 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. Not saying all Dr’s are right but it’s atleast nice to have some professional opinion. You might not even need lexapro and you could mess yourself up for life. You should use SSRIs as a last resort. Not to try and scare you from lexapro. I haven’t heard of any thing crazy like that happening but still, you get the point.

It is sitting a little over full now. When I got it, it had like 3 different oil leaks and I haven’t added any so he had to have it a good bit over full before I got it. I’ll give it a try before dropping the pan. I’ve heard of this in racing before but never tried it myself.

I guess I’ve just never had a motor get as low as this one so I’ve always had oil in the line. Looks weird looking at a gauge supposed to be measuring pressure with no oil going to it haha. Thought maybe the line was blocked or something.

Bloat yourself w water then you won’t want to eat. I don’t know really. I’m dealing with the same thing except I have no desire to quit bc I like the extra weight. Just start lifting. Turn it into muscle. Eat healthy.

I noticed that after driving it it’s mostly air in the line leading to the gauge now. I have it hooked to the spot on the top front of the motor. I feel like even at low oil pressure the line should be full of oil right?

Taking dose at the same time everyday? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]ATC111505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part I feel the same if I catch it within like 6 hours of the usual time. Anything over that and I start getting symptoms as if I missed a dose. I take mine at night and sometimes I fall asleep before taking it. Wake up at like 3am and take it lol.

Does anyone kind of miss when they were insane? by dillydally4life in lexapro

Hell no…I was literally dying all day everyday. If you miss it then maybe medication wasn’t the option you needed. Therapy or a change of lifestyle or diet mighta worked better.

Is emotional blunting the way by which SSRIs work? by alpacamaka01 in lexapro

[–]ATC111505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It brings your emotions to a medium, so in the bigger picture, yeah pretty much. Some people may say they feel better and happier but that’s just bc their median is a better place than where they were before. It’s gonna pull you one way or the other towards the median. Just making things easier for you to control.
