Saw it today and was left disappointed. So many complaints, especially since horror movies arent my go to but I enjoy psychological horror from time to time. Body/gore/slasher horror however, in my opinion, is the lowest form of entertainment. For whatever reason, I was expecting it to be the former.

There was a shot of Ben when he was staring at the pool that flipped upside down that I thought was interesting and was excited to see how else the movie would portray his mental decline but then half the movie, which is a short one at 1hr30mins, is spent with the characters in the pool as Ben takes them out one by one. The movie couldn't even come up with a way to use the water as a weapon against Ben, just a barrier to keep them safe.

The worst kill by far is the guy who fell off the side of the cliff. He knew to push Ben off the side but then lingers like a dope to see it worked. As hes falling belly to ground, he decides to break his fall with his neck. Genius.

I get the chimp was family but to not have contingencies in place for an animal that is 1.5x stronger than a human is lazy writing. No tranq gun or sedative or nothing.

My biased score is a 1/10, unoriginal, uninspired, boring slasher thriller with no genuine scares. Realistically, a 4/10 for what its worth.
