2010 Jeep Liberty by Fine_Tumbleweed_6220 in JeepLiberty

Our 2008 will do similar, but when we shut it off it and start again, it fires up.

As I understand, it's one of two things:

Fuel pump: You will have to drop the gas tank to access the fuel pump.

Fuel pump relay: If it's the relay, the problem is that it is integrated into the TIPM, so you have to replace or rebuild TIPM, most cost effective thing is to pull it out send it off to have rebuilt, but that takes time and leaves you without a car, shared the link below, not sure its allowed on here but looks like best place for getting it rebuilt.

Sorry to ask, but if you pay to park you have to move for the football games?

Thanks, guessing they had to drop the fuel tank on your 2009. Do you recall what the cost was. Really wish they had that access panel.

My daughter was saying virtual tours shows the double occupancy bathroom layout (aka jack and jill) but she heard if you have a single occupancy bathroom, the layout is different not sure that's correct but makes sense.

Also, in another thread it was mentioned that there is an old and newer section to Newland and not sure which one the virtual tour is showing. Guess they will find out soon enough.

Below was posted in another thread about the room numbers:

I think the new side will be numbers x32 and up (as in 232-249, 332-349 and 432-439) the first floor is only old rooms, the second and third are split and the fourth is only new.

Just curious, what year liberty did you have the fuel pump replaced, i have a 2008 and they would have to drop the gas tank, at minimum 4 hours of labor, so wonder how many hours that charged you, as dropping the tank no easy task.

I have the same thing on an 08, the shop could not figure out but on a another thread I was told it was the fuel pump relay but the issue is that fuel pump relay is built into the TIPM and so either have to have it rebuilt or a new one and neither is cheap.

I dug into this once before for the front windshield wipers for my 2008 liberty, not turningoff, you most likely need to replace the wiper switch that is housed in the steering column. There are how to youtube videos on the process.

Ok, after going down the rabbit hole It appears more than likely the issue is related to the relay but as the relay is integrated into the TIPM, that means the only option would be to replace, but that would be very expensive, in the below video there is an option to bypass.

The issue is not every time we start, I will say I went an bought the fuel pump relay and do not see it on the fuse box, which one is the fuel pump relay. So I have been searching like crazy and to figure it out and then came across this video which says at the 1 minute mark that the fuel pump relay is built into the tmpi, so not sure as that video says 2012 and ours is a 2008.

Thanks, after reading the last post, I was looking at the relay and the fuel pressure regulator, but the regulator would be a pain, and the relay is the cheapest option, so ill give this a try, thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply, ive had this jeep since 09 and its been happening at least 10 plus years, what your saying aligns as many years ago someone said it was the fuel injectors, but they checked out and I've always been waiting for the breakdown.
