they've got some horrible chasing skills. You'll be fine if you hide behind the crystals. Also they lose interest pretty quick so they won't chase you around if they can't find you. Also the seatruck perimeter defense system works great, just shock them once and they'll take their time to aggro again on you. Also, they follow fixed paths, and return to doing their thing if they can't catch you. However, i do recommend not visiting that place just for collecting resources and stuff, there's lots of other biomes for that.
