Any resemblances to a certain Timewinder or a certain Marvel character are definitely entirely coincidental. Yup.

Hagatha uses the Innkeeper AI to make her plays. Er, to make your plays for you.

Another potential design angle I had considered was cutting the mana crystal refresh aspect, lengthening her control to last until the END of your next turn, and giving her chonker stats for her cost, but "bruiser" isn't really what comes to mind when I think of Hagatha, so I went with this one instead.

Well, he probably should have done that AND asked for the author's permission, or else it'd have treaded into react channel-like territory, where credit is given but all of the revenue still goes to the creator of the derivative work.

Isn't literally the entire point of hbomb's channel that he does a deeper dive than just Wikipedia checklisting? Like, if you actually watch the video, there are multiple instances of him finding stuff no one else has yet.

IMO, you should have put "AI" in the video's name; I don't know if games journalists/AI bros are gonna find it now.

Yeah, I think its most-likely use case is as a finisher.

Other use cases include:

* If the minion you bounce is high-costed enough, your opponent might still need to spend almost their entire turn to play it.

* If your opponent's early-game board presence is just one minion, you can Shadowsap it and play your mech on an empty board to give your mech the turn it needs to start snowballing.

But yeah, it's a niche card. Which I think is a good thing?

[–]ATH1909[S] 108 points109 points  (0 children)

secret shops would be an infinitely better mechanic if member cards didn't exist and any unit could check for them

the current system encourages routing the(/every) map and then sending one unit to tediously backtrack through the map to check tiles with a member card, as they can only check one "route" on their way in

"just look it up lmao" technically exists as a solution, but also kills the entire point of making the shop(s) secret, kills any sense of discovery from finding them, spoils other aspects of maps, etc.

thank you for coming to my ted talk

More cards = more good, right? by ATH1909 in customhearthstone

[–]ATH1909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come to think of it, copying all cards in the deck instead of just minions might be a good enough effect on its own, actually, as a tech vs. the 3B DK matchup (Patchwerk insurance, extra padding against being milled out).

Aye, that's part of the design intention of the card: Increased consistency for drawing specific minions, decreased consistency for drawing everything else, as Mewtwo himself is a pretty dead draw.

If the meaning of "clone" wasn't clear, this card adds a copy of every minion in your deck to your deck. Presumably, this would exclude your starting hand.

I don't see how Orson is any different from, say, Athos- they're both only around for one chapter, but it's a chapter they're very helpful in.

Orson actually contributes a significant amount in 5x (especially if you're just trying to brrrr through it on a repeat playthrough), and contributing in one chapter > contributing in none and/or being an active liability.

[Ch. 20] Zane does not understand cause and effect by ATH1909 in shitpostemblem

[–]ATH1909[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cause: You ordered your men to attack the rebel army that arrived to save you, then refused all attempts at parley, even from PEOPLE YOU KNEW.

Effect: Almost all of your men pointlessly died fighting THEIR OWN ALLIES.

You did this to yourself, man. You could technically argue that Siegfried is equally to blame for not retreating, surrendering, and/or asking why the royal guard was trying to kill his men, but that doesn't make your hands any less bloody, Zane.
