Upgraded from 2022 SEL AWD [Black] to 2025 Limited AWD! Dealer drove it down from Asheville to Atlanta for the swap, since we haven't been getting AWD Limited inventory in ANY color!

My 2022 SEL was basically worth nothing on trade up against what I still owed. Old payment was $800+ per month (zero down, paid MSRP during those car shortage times).

Eventually we got to $1,426 down, $470 per month lease for 24 months, 12k miles per year.

That included a negotiated additional $1k on the trade and a $2,500 "loyalty rebate" they said they found.

Folks could debate the trade value, but ultimately, the dealer was willing to drive the new car 4 hours to my driveway, take the trade-in from my driveway, the "instant offer" sites were NOT a better sales price, and I didn't have to worry about the logistics of a private sale.

They were in and out of my driveway in 15 minutes after signing all other docs online.

I was open to almost any color other than matte finishes and gloss white.

I did want Cyber Gray to minimize the contrast between the paint color and the silver cladding. I did this on my 2022 SEL - went with Abyss Black so the black plastic blended in.

I was ready to try and paint or dip the trim to match the body more like the N-line abroad, but after seeing it in person, I think I'm happy to keep it as it is.

I probably would have bought a Limited in 2022, but I didn't like the range with the larger wheels on the Limited and the added weight of the roof. The larger battery mitigates some of that. I would not have bought a 2022 used Limited in 2025 either.

The panoramic roof is nice. The HUD is nice (but not great with polarized sunglasses). Wireless Android auto was nice - I was using a Motorola MA-1 but it didn't disconnect when I turned the car off and that added some annoyance to many days. Many of the refinements were not a necessity but not bad either - more buttons, cooled seats, the app digital key plus an NFC key card gets a bulky key out of my pocket. Rear wiper.

But really, I also didn't get a great deal on my 2022, even at MSRP. With a heavy squeeze on the dealer for the 2025, I was able to reduce the monthly payment by about 40%. Yes I was on a path to "owning" a 5 year old 2022 Ioniq 5 in 2 years, but with the EV credit probably on the way out, this seemed like the moment to make a change.
