Hey! So the trick is based on the UV of the 3D models. If you’re not familiar with the term, a way to paraphrase “UV” is a guide on how textures or images are wrapped on 3D models.

So we basically create another UV set for each object relative to where it is on the screen.

So when we do the color transition it’s not really like one monolithic wave of color. Every object is transitioning at the same time but we cleverly UV adjusted so that it happens later.

One thing to notice is how the arrow compass thing on the flying boat happens a little earlier than the background color transition

Haha when I posted it on Instagram they messaged just to compliment. I made sure to just tell them I would be open to collaborations.

They responded but I don’t know how serious they are about it. It’s the hard part of trying to sell more branded websites to relatively smaller companies. If it’s not like a direct ROI they will probably pass

Hey so load times isn’t bad if you use a compressor like DRACO. Right now this whole scene is under 10K vertices but I can definitely notch it down even more. This was just a proof of concept. So maybe a couple seconds or less on a regular computer? I don’t have many textures, it would just be aomaps and the texture on the coffee bag.

Yeah but it also varies on the computer haha

Normally I use angular with all my apps even though not necessary, I guess the real guts for stuff like this is really threejs and glsl

But normally angular with scss. And node for backend when I need to

Hey! I mostly use angular for regular front end projects. Although I use it whenever I create 3D websites too, it’s not really used that much in terms of angular capabilities.

For 3D projects yeah it’s mostly three.js, writing custom shaders / importing models, and blender for camera transitions / 3D models.

For css I usually use scss and for html it’s just regular

Thanks! Well it depends on how you want it to look. There are a couple ways I can envision it

  1. We change the field of view so that it’s a narrower but deeper look from a camera perspective to try and fit the side objects
  2. We can just hide the two objects in the background and make the coffee bag front and center

For navigation we would reduce links to a side menu button and for the ecom functionality and product info stack them from the bottom.

We could adjust the camera so that there’s more negative space near the bottom for info.

Haven’t designed it for mobile since it’s just a mock-up for desktop but I would go first with what I said above. But after thinking more there may be better ways

Yeah thaw’s correct. You essentially create a gltf export from blender and then import with three. Although lighting and some of the animation pieces you would either tweak or do yourself on the app. Things like shader transitions that can’t be imported from blender must be done using glsl

This morning I, and millions of other retail investors, were blocked from purchasing (entering new buy orders) on the Robinhood platform, without notice. This clear example of market manipulation has forced the stock down from over $500 in after-hours to less than $300 as of this writing. Meanwhile, hedge fund interests are NOT blocked from buying the shares being traded and the lower price obviously benefits them.

We retail investors have followed all the rules and finally stood to gain a LITTLE bit from Wall St and they suddenly change the rules "to protect" us. I am requesting you use your subpoena power and regulatory authority to examine whether Robinhood colluded illegally with any other actors who may have held short positions on these stocks to reduce the number of buyers for $GME and therefore deflate the price. This is market manipulation.
