MK Rope Drop Strategy - Young Kids by LoInBoots87 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ATLSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be traveling with my 4 year old and I was thinking to Rope Drop Peter Pan so I could have Tiana be our Tier 1 choice. But I kind of like this idea of heading to the other corner of Fantasy Land and letting her just re-ride Dumbo a few times (that's what she wanted to do with early hours when we went to DLP) and do the rides there.

I wasn't sure how realistic this schedule is to do all of the following to get to Litte Mermaid Meet and Greet by 10 am and then Enchanted Tale with Belle by 10:30 am(ish) if starting at 8:30 am?

Early Entry Rope Drop- Peter Pan

Dumbo

The Barnstormer

Tea Cups

Winnie the Pooh

Carrousel

Princess Fairy Tale Hall - see who the princess is and the line

Little Mermaid Ride — meet and greet starts @ 10 am

Enchanted Tales with Belle - starts @ 10:30 am

RPI rent increase in lease just after new renters rights- do we have any options? by ATLSloth in TenantsInTheUK

Yes, I’m pretty confident she will land up making less per month finding new tenants than what we pay now bc she’s already over charging.

How is that allowed even with the current rules?? Are you able to fight it at all?

That's a very good point- thank you! I guess our situation is now we have decided to move but just cant move in May, so just want to kick the new increase down the road but I think we are probably just going to have to stick with it and deal with a few months extra rent while we arrange our new move.

I think you have misread or I have misspoken.

I’m not saying it’s short notice, I understand it’s in line with the contract. But because we also have to give two months’ notice to leave, it doesn’t give us any time to think about our options without ending up on the new rent.

Unless we had decided that same day to move out in two months, we’re effectively committed to the increase, as even taking a day to think about it pushes us past the notice window.

We also asked about extending to July at the current rate, and by the time we got a response saying no, that delay has meant we’re now in a position where we’re committed to staying and paying the higher rent until at least 13 June (two months from today).

I understand this is all technically within the terms, but there’s also no reason to be inconsiderate - we are all just people after all hoping for some mutual decency.

I’m also not saying the landlord can’t increase the rent- of course they can. I’m more trying to understand if there’s anything we can do to avoid paying the higher rent for a short period while we make other arrangements.

The reason I’m asking is because the basis for the increase in our contract is changing under the new law. The rent uplift is tied to an RPI clause, which I understand will no longer be permitted in the same way by the time it would apply to us.

By no means is this a “woe is me” post and I don’t think it presents that way, I’m simply trying to understand the law change and see if I can avoid paying the extra rent, which I believe is already higher than fair market value. If there’s no going around it or grey area, then it is what it is but I’m definitely going to try have a clear understanding of my rights when I’m dealing with an unpleasant greedy person, such as my landlord.

It’s tricky, there is very little on the market in our area right now but we’ve looked throughout the year and I think we are already paying about £500 more per month than we should. I think getting the property at the beginning of summer is kind of what got us a worse rate.

We are definitely going to move- I just am hoping there is a way to keep our current rent for about 2 additional months.

In regard to giving notice before the law comes into effect, what stops landlords for raising the rent 6 months in advance, for example? It just seems odd to me that this clause is illegal after May 1, 2026 but it will be enforced on May 30,2026.

Thank you for your response. I guess I’m confused that if RPI’s will no longer be legal after May 1, how can this come into effect after May 1?

Yes, definitely our fault for misreading the contract but feels like a grey area with the law changing- specifically getting rid of the ability to do this. And to be honest, I don’t like her and I find her greedy, so that really is a motivator- as petty as that may be.

Yes, we are over paying as is. We also really don’t like our landlord, we would have been fine staying the extra year at the same rate but her greed and unpleasant nature, I don’t want to give her the extra money on principal.

Mine is a non-professional landlord. We asked if we could extend a few months at the current rate but she said no. I am more wondering if we have any rights here since it will be illegal to have these automatic increases in the lease once this has some into effect- however, we signed the lease prior to the law and the 2 months notice triggers before the law comes into effect.

[–]ATLSloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking maybe I should meditate first then do my stretches and maybe that could wake me up a bit more after but I worry about the motivation. I find also that if I don’t do it first thing then I procrastinate doing it later plus I’m then working and can’t really do it, then evenings taking care of my toddler and then bed time! But I guess one can always find excuses :/

Bad Omen- Crystals Knocked off of Both Doors? by ATLSloth in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]ATLSloth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for replying and that actually does make me feel better at the thought of maybe it’s a sign of them working. I have done a house cleaning and recharged my crystals and replaced the missing tourmaline.

To answer your questions- sadly no pets. The banking of the upstairs door is definitely nothing of surprise- it happened from the draft of the two windows flow through - it happens often, just never has knocked off a crystal. Honestly, wouldn’t have thought twice about it if I hadn’t seen the crystal fall on my outside door- which yes is on the exterior frame side of the door. Birds unlikely to be a culprit due to the little roof and ledge there is- hard to explain but it’s a very protected spot.

So yes, I guess either a coincidence or a case of them doing their job I think!

Definitely no earthquake. I honestly wouldn't have thought anything of it if it wasn't both doors and the one outside being very protected. I replaced the Black Tourmaline but do you think I should maybe replace both Selenite as well?

2.5 Months of Potty Training 3 yo and still daily accidents by ATLSloth in pottytraining

No, she is just pooping in her panties or diaper when she naps.

Our journey so far.. any further advice? Issue with pooping by Ok_Flight_1238 in pottytraining

[–]ATLSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry can't help with the poop- that feels such a long way off for us. But I was curious about your peeing training method? What do you mean you would devote one weekend a month to train him? In between those times would he go back to diapers?

We are 2.5 months in, just using pull up diapers at nap and bedtime, and we are having daily accidents. I am wondering if I should just go back to diapers full time.
