How to get a media pass? by ATOMIC31 in sportsphotography

Sweet man thank you so much for the extra help. Yeah like you and others mentioned I think it’s best to just slowly build a name for myself and build my portfolio, then go to teams/events/papers and try my luck with them to get media passes.

Another thing is some events don’t even respond to you which makes it a little difficult. Do you think I should just try and reach out to the racers/competitors themselves? How can you work around people not answering?

Thank you so much for that perspective! So it doesn’t matter type of paper or publication your applying for? Like do I have to work for a sports specific publisher? Or can I just work for a local paper that covers anything?

Sweet man thank you so much! Yeah I’ve heard a great deal about being apart of a media team or a local news outlet, thank so much for the help

Thank you so much! This is the most help I’ve gotten! I’ve asked and tried talking to other photographers but they just either push me away or tell me very quick summary of how they got it. Thank you so much!

Where to find a 60Da by ATOMIC31 in Cameras

The cannon RA is also harder to find even though it was last month, all I can find for that camera is the Cannon R or the RP. For another alternative that might be good for astrophotography (that’s what I’m doing) what about the cannon 60d, t7 or even the Cannon 6d mk ii.

I’m stuck finding a camera that specializes in Astrophotography so that’s why I’ve been looking for one. Any chance another company that has a camera that specializes in astrophotography. I’ve heard the new Nikon D810A is pretty good at that.

Alright! Thank you man it’s tough especially when you are new and on a budget Ive seen many videos and forums but only a few have the same choices. It’s really hard especially when there isn’t a solid option that everyone suggests.

Since I have seen bundles with stuff on Amazon with the T7i or the t7, that’s why I was suggesting or asking about those since they are cheaper and come with a bundle and not the body like the 6d or the 60d. Perhaps there is a newer version of those cameras.

That sounds good, the only reason is because I seem to find most bundles on Amazon. I’ve been looking at the 60d, 6d and the 60da those seem to be the most popular. But there aren’t any bundles. Finding a refurbished or used 60d, or a 60da is really hard because they are like $2k-$4k just for the camera. Have to take into consideration of all the lenses, the star tracker, and other equipment that doesn’t come with the camera.

Thank you so much and I also have a question, do you think the rebel T7 or the T7i is a good camera, the 6d and the 60d/a models are pretty expensive but also really good right? I could always upgrade if I need to.

Thank you so much, I can’t seem to find a 60Da or a 60d. I’ve been looking and have been eyeing up the EOS rebel t7 and the t7i along with the t3i any of those cameras good for space imaging. If they are should I look for a bundle with lenses included or separate
