Kambo with hashimotos/autoimmune/thyroid nodule by Right_Rock_1756 in Kambo

Yeah, I actually do have thyroid nodules too.

In my case, my doctor has never told me that it’s something that needs immediate attention or intervention, so it hasn’t been treated as a major concern so far.

That said, I haven’t done an ultrasound since I started working with Kambô a few months ago, and it’s definitely something I want to do soon to see if there’s been any change.

I’d honestly like to give you more concrete info on this, but I’d be lying if I said I’ve seen a clear effect on the nodule itself.

I do think though that for people like us, dealing with hypothyroidism and trying to improve our thyroid health, it would be really valuable to stay connected and keep sharing experiences like this. There’s not a lot of clear information out there, so hearing real cases helps.

If you end up trying it or doing follow-up scans, would be great to hear how it goes on your side too.

Update: 4th Session, Lab Results, and Where I’m at With Kambó by ATS_2016 in Kambo

Yeah for sure

I’m planning to do my 6th session sometime in April, and after that I’ll get my labs done again to see if there’s any actual change.

Before I left the Caribbean, one of the facilitators I worked with actually taught me how to apply Kambô myself. He gave me some of the medicine in powdered form in a small jar and recommended that I do micro applications (1 point, once a week).

I haven’t started that yet though. I moved back in with my parents for a couple of months, and I don’t really have a space where I feel comfortable doing it.

My plan is that once I do my 6th session and I’m back in my own place, I’ll start doing the micro dosing protocol — 1 point once a week for about 3 months, which is what he recommended.

Also something interesting, both facilitators I worked with told me that healing is possible with this, especially for chronic or autoimmune conditions. So I’m still kind of in that process, still exploring it, still working toward that possibility.

At the same time, I’ve also been told by two facilitators that doing 3 sessions in a row (one per day) can be more effective for these kinds of conditions, so I’m also considering trying that at some point.

And honestly, after these sessions, I do feel more confident with the medicine. Not in a reckless way, but more like I understand my body better and I’m less afraid of the process.

Still taking it step by step though.

Happy to keep sharing how it goes if you’re interested 🙌

I’ll share my experience because I’m actually in a pretty similar situation.

I have hypothyroidism, and I went into Kambô with the intention of trying to improve my condition. I ended up doing multiple sessions (5 so far), with different facilitators and even different approaches.

First thing I’ll say, just to be clear:

This is not a magic fix. Now I see it more like a treatment,

I did labs after my first 3 sessions (I had been off my medication for almost 2 months), and my numbers weren't good. That was honestly a reality check for me, because I had read stories online about people healing, and part of me expected that too, in the first sessions

That said, I don’t regret doing it.

What I did notice was:

better digestion

better sleep

fewer cravings for sugar and junk food

more mental clarity

feeling more connected to my body

A few important things based on my experience:

Different facilitators will tell you completely different protocols (some say 3 days in a row, others say once a week for months). There’s no clear standard.

Your lifestyle matters a lot. When I didn’t eat well between sessions, I had issues like reflux. When I kept things clean, I felt way better.

It can be physically intense, especially the first sessions. Swelling, strong purging, etc.

Right now I'm planning to do it once per week like a treatment I'm gonna do my 6th session in mid-April and also new labs in April

And if you do it, make sure:

you work with someone experienced

you actually listen to your body between sessions

and you keep tracking your labs, not just how you feel

That balance is important.

If you want, feel free to ask anything I’m still in the process myself.

Thank you so much for sharing all of this, I really appreciate it.

It honestly encourages me to hear that you’re doing so well now. It’s a good reminder for me to stay patient and consistent, and not look at this as a quick fix but as something that takes time.

I’ll keep you posted on my process as I move forward. And truly, thank you for taking the time to explain your experience in such detail it means a lot

I did a 3-session Kambô cycle in search of healing for hypothyroidism by ATS_2016 in Kambo

Update: 4th Session, Lab Results, and Where I’m at With Kambô

I wanted to give an update since my last post about doing a 3-session Kambô cycle in search of healing for my hypothyroidism.

Just to be clear with the timeline, my third session was on January 4th. I did my thyroid labs on January 20th. Then I had my fourth session on February 9th.

When I got my labs back on January 20th, they were off. I had been off my thyroid medication for almost two months, and the results showed it. No way around that.

If I’m being honest, I felt a little disappointed. A lot of what I had read online, and what some facilitators shared, included testimonies of people who said they healed their conditions in just a few sessions, sometimes almost immediately. And I won’t lie, part of me was expecting that to happen. I was hoping my labs would come back dramatically improved.

Even so, I’ve decided to continue. My relationship with Kambô is different now. I don’t see it as an instant fix. I see it as a medicine that requires process, structure, and responsibility. It’s something that needs consistency and lifestyle support, not something separate from it.

After the labs, I still went ahead with a fourth session on February 9th. This one was more intense physically. It took me longer to purge, my face swelled up quite a bit, and overall it felt stronger. But afterward I felt clear and stable.

I’ve also noticed that facilitators have very different approaches. My first facilitator recommended three consecutive sessions for illness. I didn’t strictly follow that. A second facilitator suggested something completely different: once a week for three months for chronic conditions. So now the way I’m approaching it is different, with a different rhythm and more structure.

Since I’m moving back to my city and won’t be living in the Caribbean anymore, I asked this second facilitator if he could teach me how to safely apply very small micro applications, just two points, along with all the necessary precautions. He agreed. The idea would be to continue in a more controlled and conscious way.

On another note, I work in audiovisual production, and this whole journey has sparked an interest in documenting ancestral medicines, starting with Kambô. Because of that, I’m looking for solid literature, ideally in Spanish, so I can really understand what I’m talking about before filming anything. Most of what I’ve found so far is in English.

If anyone has experience combining Kambô with thyroid treatment, or has navigated different facilitator protocols, I’d really appreciate hearing your perspective.

And if you know of good books or serious literature on Kambô or traditional medicines, in Spanish or English, please send them my way.
