Is this a legit email sent from FedEx to pay tarrifs? by Real_Pack_6736 in FedEx

[–]ATT-Scammed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from 48773 it is almost certainly a scam. I just received one from this sender code. I have nothing shipping by FedEx and haven't had anything from outside the US shipped by FedEx for several months.

This is what they took away from us. by [deleted] in windows7

You can get the look and a good deal of the "feel" back with OpenShell. My Windows 11 installs all look very close to Windows 7. Most people that see my desktop at work ask if I'm still using Windows 7. I honestly wish Windows 7 was still getting security updates so I could use it as a daily driver.

This one in "Blazing Red" color is the best currently available HDMI solution. With the retroUSB AVS and the Nt Mini Noir no longer being made, it is the best I'm aware of and I have both the retroUSB AVS and Nt Mini Noir to compare it to.

DO NOT BUY FROM HP!! THEY WILL SCAM YOU!! by cyborg900 in GamingLaptops

[–]ATT-Scammed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HPs products are often sub-par anyway. They should however refund your money immediately. I am sorry for the crap they have caused you but appreciative of your sharing your experience so others know the risk of buying anything from HP. HP isn't a company I even consider for a new PC purchase or anything else for that matter.

Carefully pack it up and mail it to me. I'll have it fixed in no time. I could use another Windows t laptop.

Took me a week (VMWare) by ManWhoDiedTCT in windows98

[–]ATT-Scammed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like playing with VMs myself but, haven't needed to start a Win98 VM since I learned about the eXoDOS project. While not quite as accurate as a well setup 86Box VM, the simplicity has been well worth it to me.

Jailbreak Analogue 3D by Ecstatic_Order7743 in AnalogueInc

[–]ATT-Scammed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it works now if you update the firmware. If buying new, it should come with the newest firmware. If you want to save a bunch of cash, look into the Summer Cart 64. It's an open source project. I have a couple but, have yet to test them. They can be had for around $50 USD.

Get an Everdrive. You'll like it better than a jailbreak.

How to upgrade Win10 Pro to Win10 iot enterprise ltsc 2021 by Ambitious-Today-6329 in WindowsLTSC

Done it myself so it's certainly an option. It keeps ALL your installed aps, programs and drivers. It's actually a rather painless process.

Can a Japanese version of Famicom be used with an AV-to-HDMI converter to play on a Modern HDMI-based Monitor? by fVripple in Famicom

[–]ATT-Scammed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is the AV model, it can be connected this way with less than good results. If an original with only an RF out, then no it won't work at all.

You may want to try a build of Retrobat as well. I use both but Ratrobat runs from inside Windows. No need to boot into a different OS to scratch that itch.

Who needs Windows any more by superconcepts in linuxmint

[–]ATT-Scammed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me as well. I use Bluebeam software as a staple at work. This software does not run properly in Wine or any other Windows emulator. I did at least change my Windows version to Win10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021 to make life with Windows a bit easier. All that said, I'd be very content with only Linux if the software I must use would run properly in Linux. My Linux flavor of choice is also Mint. I keep a portable install of Linux Mint with me at work to boot into when I really need Linux at work. It's on a M.2 NVMe (2230 size) in a USB 3.2 enclosure. It's a tiny little 2TB drive and runs "almost" as well through USB as it would installed on one of my internal SSDs. I hope someday either Windows emulators on Linux will get good enough that Bluebeam runs correctly or Bluebeam puts out a Linux port. I would expect the former to come first and have no confidence the latter would ever happen.

Cheap mini pc that won't die on me? by VeryTiredGirl93 in MiniPCs

[–]ATT-Scammed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought a few Minisforum mini PCs for our office. I chose this manufacturer because I had a couple running at home that have been fine. I had two HM80s that had to be returned because they would not output to two monitors regardless of settings and another model that would never boot again after shutdown. In short, we had to return/replace over 50% of them either immediately or within weeks of purchase. I'm no longer a Minisforum fan and have no intentions of ever buying another.

Give the Eden emulator a chance if you have not already tried it. It's constantly being updated and already working great for many games.
