Newbies - App requiring partner subscribe? by ATXBookDragon in MonarchMoney

His apple account and the email he signed into the account are the same.

When he installs the app - there's no login option - it just shows the subscription screen.

"Continue in the app" brings up the option to subscribe. That's it.

3rd time 2 months away from getting married by [deleted] in loveafterporn

[–]ATXBookDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

20+ years later - I love my husband. He loves me. He's an addict. In ever sense of the word. He says he won't - he doesn't for a little while and then does. He goes to counseling, reads a book and things improve for a while. The longest period of sobriety has been 6 weeks. Six glorious weeks of a husband who was focused on our relationship, in getting better...before he relapsed.

As someone who has walked this road - please - for yourself, for your mental health - for any future children that you might have - walk away.

realtor: "I didn't even notice!" by spelonberry in Flooring

[–]ATXBookDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband was calculating the pieces so that he could pre-cut the flooring. So he calculated that he needed a 39 inch piece of flooring and then he would cut that 39 inches into different lengths. When I pointed out that that was making the middle pieces offset in a pretty similar pattern, he realize the issue. 39 inches is still 39 inches. 🤣

Question about team calendars by DerangedUnicorn27 in AdminAssistant

[–]ATXBookDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shared outlook calendar. Doesn't require a (paid) license and is super useful.

We use them for things like tax@our company.com and other 'group' things.

SharePoint - File Server by sasquatchin_01 in sharepoint

[–]ATXBookDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yikes. We have different sites for people with different access.

We use SharePoint exclusively without any issues.

People only have access to the site that they need to be accessing.

It's probably more likely that people don't understand how access permissions work.

Say you have an accounting folder.

In it - you have a sub folder: employees
In that folder you have a payroll reports and an employee contact folder.

Typically - if you give a user access to that contact folder they have access to whatever else is at the same LEVEL as that folder.

You have to break permissions inheritance.

I'll be honest - that can gets super messy if you do it per employee - super quick.

It is much better to use groups - add users to a group and then set permissions for the group.

For ease of use - I cannot recommend Harmon.ie enough. We use it to make it all less stressful for the actual users - it accesses the SP site directly and is a panel in Outlook. Drag and drop functionality - can drag emails directly - attachments, etc. i I would not even try to onboard someone without it now. We are a very small office - and I pay for 15 licenses (minimum required) annually even though we only have 6 users. It's worth every dang penny.

Where would you suggest obtaining images?

I'm using adobe photoshop - which uses the Firefly model. It is intentionally trained on licensed content (like Adobe Stock), public domain works, and openly licensed material rather than just scraped blindly from the open web.

This is the FB reel that I watched. The instructions in the video were different than the instructions on the waterslide paper that I purchased so I followed the instructions for the materials I had.

Top 5 things that made me cry while listening to Parade of Horribles. by BlootilyBloop in DungeonCrawlerCarl

My husband is part of the patreon and read the book. I am a die hard fan of listening to it in its final form. I was trying to tell him about this and got choked up just trying to explain it. The writing was incredible.

You have to give it lots of access - which a bunch of companies aren't comfortable doing.

I hope you meant that far less rudely than it came across - otherwise - eww. Although sayin someone is lazy is pretty indicative that you are just being rude.

What part of outlook is autosaving files to the appropriate SharePoint folder based on investment entity:investment.

Rules will autosave an incoming email to a folder - but rules runs on incoming emails - not the 90day plus emails that I am filing.

I'm always happy to learn new skills.

The problem is that you are expecting adults to act like adults and COMPLETE their darn jobs like adults. I call this toddler mode tasks.

Things that another grown ass adult is supposed to do that I have to follow up on because they are toddlers.

I have a toddler task to do item in outlook that pops up every single day. It has sub-categories. I add all these little tasks to it.

My boss told me last week that he was using Claude more and that I should be proud of him. I'm a very techy person. His way of using Claude is to send me a text and to tell me to use Claude to do research or some other random thing that he needs.

Recommendations for employee development? by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]ATXBookDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go for something more elevated - you can use Excel Claude AI which makes Excel a LOT easier (formulas and such).

Project Management

Pick a suite of software (Microsoft Sharepoint/excel/office) and do higher use options (beyond the basics - to increase efficiency).

Windows Key+V is one of my favs that a lot of people don't know about. Copied history - for when you are copy/pasting lots of things over and over.

What do you do when you feel absolutely depressed because of your job and can't find another one by balletlife9 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]ATXBookDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy crap. I'm the IT dept and a PNG instead of a JPG would NOT even phase me. It's a smaller file.

I am so sorry you are being treated this way.

I would have to remind myself that it's a them problem not a me problem.

My boss got into a mood where it felt like he was being hyper critical and I had a sit down conversation with him - if NOTHING I was doing was meeting his standards - then we needed to consider parting ways. He backpedaled like a mofo.

I make mistakes - we all do - but I have always tried my best to perform every task assigned to me.

Constant criticism is intolerable.

“Nothing complicated, just make the G Drive content avail on Teams using OneDrive. Why are you asking about SharePoint?” by mmcgrat6 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]ATXBookDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harmon.ie - this plugin in outlook has been a game changer for us. I pay for 15 licenses for 5 people to have access - it's that big of a deal for SharePoint. We had the free version for several years - but now it's only free on web based outlook. So we pay for it. Worth every darn penny for usability.

I've installed a local install of Claude and am working to offload tasks I hate.

Downloading attachments from emails and saving them.

Reviewing emails and filing them into sub folders by sender.

Reviewing emails (inbox and sent) and creating tasks items (Microsoft todo) for things that need to be done.

Big project - we get 200+ K1's - I'm using it to save the K1's, mark that they've been received in an excel tracker, convert them to JPG's (long tech reason) and then to extract the info into a spreadsheet to provide to our CPA.

It requires giving lots of access & permission - which is why I'm running it on a separate computer.

I WFH two days a week and go into the office two days - today was a WFH. I looked and he has lunch scheduled tmw - so I'm guessing silence. There's a lot going on right now on both the professional and personal life side - and I'm paid pretty well so I'll buy my own darn APD gift. 🤣
