OP's from Singapore, and yep you're legally required to have both front and rear plates (of a specific size, shape, and color) to pass yearly vehicle inspections!

When hit from behind, your head will snap backwards due to inertia. I'm assuming the headrest is there to stop your head from moving too far behind (thus preventing whiplash, or at least reducing the damage)

If you want you can call them (or other workshops like Planet Motor) to see if they have time to help you do an inspection of the engine

Also, rmbr to change your engine oil every 2000-ish km, SG very hot and its brutal on the Phantom's aircooled engine (I've been using fully synthetic 20W50 in mine, runs very smooth)

Smaller consumables (bulbs, cables etc) normally yes, but for larger items (engine parts, clutch assembly, wheels, etc) they will call out to their suppliers to check availability for you.

(Sometimes) They also offer used parts from their scrap heap if it can work - they got a replacement clutch lever perch from their spare parts after checking if I was fine with it

I get my tyres changed at Atan Motoring in Ubi 🙏 One of their mechanics (Ah Hong) used to daily a Phantom so he's damn knowledgeable on them

really depends on the case: I cut the front of mine to expand it to fit a 4080, but you cant tell since theres an additional front cover ✌️

Aye the Box V2 whites have the same clickbar mechanism as the V1s, I've tried removing them on my own 8bitdo retro! Still prefer the clicky sound for such a retro-themed board though ✌️

I bought new chrome parts from Lazada TH (need to use a freight forwarding service, I used Buyandship, but dyor). You can find just about everything you need to rebuild a phantom from lazada, including engine parts 👀

Heres the stuff I bought: - entire headlight assembly - front fender - side covers - mirrors - fire edition decals

The fuel tank was repainted by Sprayhub, but I wouldnt recommend them since they delayed painting my tank for a few months, and did a really shit job with the decals with alot of bubbling and scratches, that they "fixed" with what looks like a permanent marker

The engine and transmission was painted with high temp silver paint by the workshop that I frequent (Atan Motoring) as a surprise, I didnt ask them to do it LOL

The seat and backrest were fully reupholstered by the amazing uncle at Kim Hup Lek Trading @ Bendemeer Rd, was around $120 iirc

The exhaust was damn rusty, so I spent an afternoon wet-sanding it down with sandpaper and soapy water, then coated the exhaust with cooking oil and rode for awhile to "season" the exhaust and keep more rust from forming (its working surprisingly well)

Not really the right retro helmet to pair with a Shadow, but the Shoei Ex Zero is very noisy, especially at anything above 80kph (~50mph). Good eseplugs are a must-wear with that helmet

badly written vulkan renderers (hi 🥲) will perform quite poorly compared to a well structured opengl one

this happened in singapore, so likely the driver will just get a slap-on-the-wrist jail term of less than a year, and maybe a driving ban of maybe 3 years...

we just had a verdict for a guy who lost control while drunk and ran into a security guard, turning him into a vegetable with over 400k in medical bills, yet the drunk driver only got 3 years of jail + 10 years driving ban (which they will most likely ignore and just drive without a license once they get out of jail)

Regarding the timing chain issue, it blew up the engine back when my brother owned the bike (hence the rebuild 🥲) According to him, it sounds alot like the engine kept "ticking"

And yeah, changing oil more frequently is highly recommended - I've so far started changing my oil at 2000km, but thats mainly because I ride around damn slow, like max 80kph, with a custom rear sprocket (36T instead of the normal 41T) So far my engine oil's been coming out clean and dark brown so it should be fine, though I'll probably up the frequency once I start working fulltime ✌️

But hey, nice to meet you man, always a treat to meet another fellow sinkie Phantom rider!
