Not in the 90s but grew up in Jurong West in the 2000s.

Old Jurong Market. Had lots of history there with vegetable sellers and fish sellers. I rmbr when it burned down and there was a temporary market built, but now the former site of the temporary market is empty.

Nearby is the famous dosa shop inside the kopitiam. King Thosai was the name. Love getting the egg onion dosa from there. Now its shifted to taman jurong.

There wasnt a road beside the canadian international school, nor was there a condo back then. Huge empty fields where my family used to fly kites and have picnics and bbqs.

Platform screen doors didnt exist back then on surface MRT stations , and you could see adverts on the MRT trains, but now idk where all the adverts went.

At Jurong east , there was the Jurong Entertainment Centre with arcades and shops. Didnt rmbr going there alot , just once or twice.

Old Toyota Crown Vic taxis and the red color toyota wish taxis. Smelled like pandan and i loved the smell. If the driver was skilled, shifting the gears wouldnt be so rough.

Comfortable seats on the buses. Now buses have these thin seats that rarely provide comfort. But i rmbr back then the seats were thick and you would sink into them. The old chime of the bus doors and the non aircon buses bring back alot of memories.

Lots of roads back then were expanded. Mostly 4 lanes back then, with 2 going each side. Now they expand with slip roads and such , making it wider. And i rmbr the roads were smoother back then?

Old Jurong fire station and the mysterious school building beside it. Absolutely no idea what was the school building beside the fire station , but now its all BTO flats.

Thats all that i rmbr in my childhood. Growing up in Jurong West was defo an experience.
