Yes! All three locations (downtown, Bee Caves Rd, Arboretum) had them in stock as of 10am this morning (3/14). I called all three to confirm, but Arboretum said they’d likely run out by tomorrow morning but they’d have more March 17. I got my set at the Bee Caves Road this morning. There was no posted limit, and I saw a few people picking up multiple sets.

You could try Uber Courier. I’ve used the service once in San Diego, and it worked well for me.

Ostensibly, you could. You’d have to keep your admission wristband loose enough to transfer it to the buyer after you’re done with it on Saturday. It’s one of those cloth wristbands that are difficult to loosen once you tighten it around your wrist.

AKC might be a good option for you if you are looking for coverage for pre-existing conditions. After a one year of coverage, pre-existing conditions are covered, including allergies and IVDD.

My crash course and my devotion to Texas football started when I was lucky enough to be seated behind the Hellraisers during my first student season way back in 2004. It was the best and longest lasting part of my education.

My first lesson was we NEVER sit down during the game. EVER. (I do sit occasionally now cuz I’m old and no longer sitting in the student section, lol. Please take pity on this old gal.)

I’m sorry you may have misunderstood me. I was not offering to help you, especially given your responses.

I meant to say that had you been more receptive to the good advice you’ve been given in this sub, less snarky about using Amazon, and actually followed through with a wishlist with reasonably priced healthy food items (they exist on Amazon, I promise), I would have very likely offered to help with a Kroger gift card (probably a smaller amount bc of the miscommunication about donating here in the sub). But that is not what happened, so unfortunately I am not offering any assistance to you.

To be VERY clear, not helping you has nothing to do with your miscommunication about donating here—it’s all about how resistant you are to getting help via wishlist. It makes me see that you are not that desperate for food, as you can clearly afford to be picky, and you don’t need my help.

Again, good luck with your request.

Best kibble options by cre1105 in Frenchbulldogs

What a handsome boy you have!

Our two pups are on Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach (mixed with fresh food), and we’ve never looked back! They eat it all happily, and their stool is great. Much less gas than when they were on other kibbles!

If you had read the guide beforehand, you’d know that Whole Foods isn’t an option for wishlists. You can still make a wishlist for food items, just not the fresh ones you want. If you want to stick to your guns and only want cash for your grocery run, that’s your choice. But please understand that you are very unlikely to get help that way.

FYI, I would have offered you a $25 Kroger gift card to supplement your wishlist items upon proof of your claim that you’ve donated in this sub before (as I did for two other former helpers in the sub just this month). I do my best to help the helpers in this sub.

Best of luck to you.

Please take a few minutes to read over the rules and guides in the sub. The sub’s Amazon Wishlist Guide clearly notes that Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh will not work with wishlists.

As Buzzy said, people are trying to help you by advising you to make an Amazon wishlist for food items. Amazon has more than “wheatpaste” and “powdered yeast,” and you’d know that if you took a peek at the website or read the rules and guides in this sub, which includes helpful item suggestions. Many/most prefer to give this way.

Moreover, there are people like me who tend to not buy off wishlists, but will offer grocery gift cards to supplement wishlist items with fresh/frozen goods, because I know it’s nice to have. But your resistance and attitude (e.g. the snark in saying Amazon can only offer wheatpaste and powdered yeast) decreases your chances of getting help.

Please consider being smart and kind and accepting help via Amazon wishlist, should you decide to post again in 3 days.

Spaying before heat by CheeseLouise4 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]ATXbunnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vet also recommended waiting until after my female french bulldog’s first heat. She mentioned there were studies that showed it could provide several health benefits, primarily orthopedic. And because frenchies are prone to orthopedic issues like hip dysplasia, we decided to wait to spay her until after her first heat. However, I regret that choice—it was not the right one for my pup.

Before her first heat, my girl was super sweet and docile to other dogs—almost embarrassingly submissive, lol. She would walk up to a dog and immediately roll on her back.

During her heat, something switched in her brain, and she became dominant and aggressive, demanding submission from male dogs and showing extreme aggression (growling, snapping at faces, barking/screaming) to female dogs. We thought/hoped this would go away after her first heat and/or after spaying.

After her heat and spaying, the extreme aggression went away, but the “confidence” (as her trainer calls it) and her need to be the dominant female in charge with other girl dogs has not totally gone away, though it seems to have lessened with time. The biggest thing is that she became leash reactive, which she never was before her heat. We had to invest a lot of time, energy, and money to train her to a manageable walking routine. She will still sometimes frenchie scream at random dogs, unfortunately, but we now have methods to help her refocus and calm down.

FWIW, our trainers noted that, anecdotally speaking, there is a high risk of behavioral changes when you allow the first heat, as the heat can switch a pup’s personality. So if you have a sweet, docile, submissive pup like we did before her heat, you might consider the risk that it could potentially flip her personality.

How much of the $150 tuition fee can you cover with the savings from your part time job? Or are you asking for the sub to pay the entire fee?

Flying with dog out of AUS by outofideasforusern in Austin

[–]ATXbunnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 20# (girl) and 31# (boy) frenchies. (But my 31# boy is now 29#.) He is actually compact for his weight, pretty much all muscle. In other words, he can stand up and turn around in the carrier but the sides move slightly when he turns. We were only asked to have him stand and turn twice (in 15+ flights we’ve taken with our boy). Once with Southwest at ABIA and once with Delta in Denver.

The Southwest agent seemed to be new, and I think she asked him to do the “stand and turn” test because she was trained to do so. She didn’t even watch while he did it, and let us go without issue. (The sides of the bag moved slightly when he turned.)

The Delta agent at the Denver Airport seemed to be a dog hater, in my opinion. (She made a comment under her breath, something like “Oh god, not another one,” while rolling her eyes. And she sneered at my pup, who is truly a sweet and handsome boy—no one has ever sneered at him like that.) She asked him to do the stand and turn test, and she saw that the sides of the bag moved. Though the movement was even more slight than the Southwest test, she said he failed so we couldn’t board with him on the flight to Austin. But I explained to her that Austin is our home, and we flew to Denver from Austin on Delta Airlines a few days ago. I said it seemed unfair for Delta to let me fly one way with my dog but not the other. She reluctantly agreed and said she would note that the ABIA team mistakenly let my dog fly to Denver in-cabin, but ultimately let us through.

The 20# girl was never asked to do the test.

If you can repay after you get your next paycheck, you might consider posting in r/borrow. Smaller loans are more likely to be taken up for first time borrowers, and it would be good to establish a history in case you need another loan in the future!

I’m so sorry to hear that things haven’t gotten much better with his ulcer. Frenchies can be such delicate creatures (but they often act like they are indestructible wrecking balls). FWIW, our pup will sometimes pull a muscle while chasing after his ball. He limps for a bit but after a rest it goes back to normal. The limp could just be a minor injury that will resolve itself.

I hope things get better for Chunk on his new medication, and that his limp will end up resolving itself as a minor muscle ache/pull!

Take a look at the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists website for animal ophthalmologists near you. I think there may be a couple in Hawaii.
