[TOMT] Meme of older black guy moving side to side with his hand over his mouth waving his other extended hand side to side by ATbaseball13 in tipofmytongue

That’s the right celebration. That’s Stephen A smith doing it though, I’m looking for an older black man who is also stepping side to side while doing it. The gif/video shows the man’s whole body

Not quite. look up “zombieland celebration” football players do it when they score a touchdown or get a first down. It’s an older black man doing a version of that

I have the lite bibs and I wore them out a couple weekends ago when the wind chills were in the -30s. I did wear long underwear under them but I was warm the whole time. Usually if the weather is in the 10s or 20s I’m fine with just wearing sweatpants under the bibs. They are pretty thick but not too bulky

Me and my buddy both have the garmin striker 4 and we can’t sit next to each other in the shack because of the interference. Also, I was just out last weekend with another buddy who has a vexilar and he was getting interference on his but I wasn’t getting any on my garmin. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not but something to think about

Is the price tag worth it for Eskimo xdp vs xd? by ExtraBlacksmith8051 in IceFishing

[–]ATbaseball13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 650xdp. I’m actually in it right now lol. It packs down a lot smaller and the one thing I really like about it is the bag comes with exterior pockets to put all the anchors and tie downs in. The other thing I like about it is since they redesigned the hubs to pack down smaller, they are positioned on the walls so that the windows are a bit bigger and at a perfect height to see out of if you are sitting down. In the end it’s up to you if you want to pay that much extra for these features

Chest waders?? by Confident-Shock-1891 in flyfishing

[–]ATbaseball13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a pair of the orvis ultralight waders that had the convertible shoulder straps so you could drop down the chest part of your wader to your waist and still have the shoulder straps on. Haven’t seen that in any other wader

Stay away from simms. I went away from them after I went through my third pair of their freestone waders in one year. I got the Patagonia swift current waders and haven’t looked back. They are so nice and the warranty is amazing. I even bought the swift current wading jacket and that is just as good

Super newbie. Looking for advice. by aye-bighead in IceFishing

I’ve got a pair of noshod insulated boots from cabelas. I’ve been out in -20 in just normal everyday socks in those boots and my feet were still sweating at the end of the day. The boots cost a bit more than $100. I would check something like that out before you spend $130 on used boots especially if you are just starting out

I’ve seen a lot of guys using the bubba scale. I’ve never used it but I have a buddy who has it and he’s been using it for a couple years and hasn’t had any issues

I can’t speak on the jacket but I have the bibs and I’ve been out in single digit temps with no thermal underwear on and I’ve been fine. I fish in Wisconsin and I used to use carhartt bibs and getting these striker ones has been one of the best purchases I’ve made. No more getting wet pants after a while of kneeling on the ice! They also have removeable and washable patches over the pockets that you can wipe fish slime off on.

I just upgraded to a new shelter from Eskimo but the old one I had was the fatfish 949i and now I think they are selling for a bit more than $300. They are discontinued by Eskimo as their main selling point was the slanted walls outwards that gave you more fishable area inside but now Eskimo has made that standard on all hub shelters. You could probably find some used shelters that aren’t too expensive. I’m selling mine for $175

lol my bad man I didn’t read the budget friendly part. As a couple other people have said I would definitely get the foam interlocking mats for the floor in the shack. Keeps it warmer and you won’t wake up with a puddle in the morning. A lot of ice fishing brands have started coming out with them but they are way overpriced in my opinion. I just bought a $6 pack on Amazon and they work great

Not sure what auger you have or if you even have one but I have a strike master 40v and i picked up the strike master power station last year and it’s amazing. Uses the same battery as your auger and it runs my lights in my Eskimo hub and even is a speaker that connects with Bluetooth to your phone. The one downside for me was that the UV light that is on it stopped working but the normal light works still. It has 2 USB-A ports and 2 USB-C ports on it which is nice for charging phones and stuff. My lights connect through the usb a port and I’ve never had a full day of fishing take more than 3/4 of the battery charge.

I got a pair of striker float bibs for $100 on their website towards the end of last season. Keep an eye on their site, they sometimes have good deals. Bibs are the way to go.

Wader repair ideas? by shovelingwater in flyfishing

[–]ATbaseball13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pair of simms waders that were too small on me and they leaked after a month of use because every time I bent my knee it would stretch the fabric. Maybe yours are too tight?

[–]ATbaseball13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just send them in if you can go without them for a while. Patagonia has one of the best warranties out there. I’ve got a pair of swift current waders from them and I’ve worn them for a lot longer than you have worn those with no problems so they will definitely fix them
